      The Governors Advisory Council on Aging is pleased to announce the 2011 recipients of
the Mini Grant awards. The purpose of the Mini Grant Program is to help facilitate up front
funding of innovative ideas that will serve senior interests in local communities.

       The Mini Grants range from $500 to $1,000. Activities eligible for funding included a full
range of services needed by Montana’s seniors such as training and education, development of
support services, creating or enhancing on-going services to meet a specific or unmet need of
seniors in the community. Applicants also have to show collaboration with the aging network, and
public/private sector partnerships.

      The following 2011 applicants were selected for funding.

        On behalf of the Advisory Council on Aging I would like to thank all who applied for the
grants, the grants judging panel and the sponsors’ of the Mini Grant awards: Grace Bowman for
her fundraising efforts, The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare,
NorthWestern Energy, Wal-Mart, First Interstate Bank, Valley Federal Credit Union, Altana
Federal Credit Union, St. Vincent’s, the Billings Gazette, Crowley Fleck Attorneys, Billings
Clinic, DiFronzo & Company for their financial donations and Alice Huller for raffle afghans. If
