HOLIDAY CLUB INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
General information
Medicines. Please ensure we are fully aware of any medical conditions or
requirements. Authorization forms must be completed before we can
administer medicine.
Electronic toys. staff should be notified if a child has brought their own
hand-held consoles, iPods, etc. these should be given to staff so that they
can be stored in the room rather than left down in the cloakroom. Time on
these will be limited to 30 minutes in a morning and 30 minutes in an
afternoon. These items should not be brought in during trips.
It is essential that children be accompanied into the club. This is to ensure
that permission/booking forms have been signed, emergency contacts are up
to date and information received for the day, e.g. what time expected back.
When collecting children please remember to sign them out and to take all
their belongings with you. (Please also remember to sign out if collecting your
child from, e.g., the park, the rail station or off the bus.)
Please see that children are dressed appropriately for the weather and that
they have a change of clothes (e.g. spare shorts). Also please apply sunscreen
before they come - staff will ‘top-up’ during the day. During the summer we
prefer the children to be adequately covered and strongly discourage the
wearing of ‘shoe-string straps’ and the removal of t-shirts – no matter how
hot it gets!
Please ensure your child has a coat at all times, the weather can change!
It maybe an idea to bring spare (old) clothes, including underwear, just in
case of accidents and in particular outdoor activities!
Unidentified lost property will only be held for one week.
Please book in advance and ensure that first payment of holiday club is made
to us one week before holiday club is due to start. Remember to let us know
as soon as possible if your child is not attending. Cancellations made to
holiday club sessions will still be charged for as all recourses will have been
purchased and staff allocated.
Trips & Outings
As with normal holiday club days children should be accompanied into the
club however all children should arrive before 9am to ensure everything is
signed and can be sorted out and prevent delays on setting off for trips.
Pocket-money. We do not always visit shops on our outings but when we do,
we have, in the interest of fairness - a £4 limit on spending money. We also
discourage children from buying sweets/fizzy drinks with their money.
Departure times from the club and arrival times back to the club will be
given as soon as trips have been confirmed.
Lunch Boxes
Please remember *healthy packed lunches every session (free of kiwi, nuts or
foods containing nuts) and in a rucksack or backpack for trips and outings.
This leaves hands free and prevents lunch boxes ‘popping’ open. Please store
perishable foods in labeled bags and we will store them whenever possible in
our fridge. Alternatively use ‘cool bags’ or put ice packs in with the lunch.
These precautions are necessary in order to comply with the current Food
Safety Act 1990. Snacks are provided mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
