Labour Mediation Service, this workshop discusses key issues relating to employment matters in community-based
organisations. This is an opportunity for sector employers and managers to add to their toolkit of skills and knowledge
about best employment practice.

Tararua REAP Garden & Cooking information Evening
Join us for a fun, entertaining, informative evening with Tony Murrell (from Mucking In and Radio
Live) and Helen Jackson (from Foodlovers and Radio Live) who are coming to Dannevirke for one
night only on Thursday 7th May 2009.

The evening will cover planning for a successful edible garden, talking about seasonal produce
and cooking, preserving and storing it. How to be a confident gardener and honing cooking skills
specifically with fresh produce to ensure the nutritional value is not lost.

They will also be taking questions from the audience similar to how they do on their radio live
show. And the giveaways include a fabulous mother’s day cake recipe and spot prizes.

Tutor Training - Literacy Aotearoa Certificate in Adult Literacy Tutoring. (CALT5)
Become a worthwhile volunteer working with Adult Learners. (CALT level5)
Training Dates: 4 - 8 May 2009 & 22 - 26 June 2009.

Term 2 courses commence from Monday 27 April.
Places are available in the following courses:
     Road Code Theory – Mondays 10 – 12 noon
     Heavy Vehicle Theory class 2 – Tuesday Evenings 6.30 – 8.30. (Classes held out of the centre)
     Computers for Beginners – A choice of Monday or Wednesdays 10–11.30 am or Tuesday afternoons 1–2.30pm
     Communicating with Confidence in English – Tuesday mornings 9.30-11am

We offer free one-to-one tuition and small group courses to Adults over 16 years of age, who need help with literacy
skills i.e. reading, writing, spelling and maths.
Also we provide literacy assistance to Modern Apprentices and adults studying for qualifications. We can provide work
based literacy programmes.
