Juan Mondcada talked about HR (Human Resources), starting with the apprentice system
through the industrial revolution to the current information/knowledge age.
Randy Hu (who?) discussed the confusion and jokes his name elicits, and his career, starting as
a CPA and advancing to his current position asCFO for Hawaii Radiologic Associates.
Meeting Called to Order by President Jack Stevenson. Rob Zimmerman led the pledge of
allegiance. Jack Stevenson presented the Thought For the Day. Rick Castberg told a joke
about a blonde and two chimps.
Brenda Ho was names Rotarian of the Month for December by President Jack for her tireless
work for Rotary.
There were numerous Recognitions, most for having names in a variety of newspapers. There
were also numerous visiting Rotarians, 10 from the Rotary Club of Hilo and 2 from the Rotary
Club of Hilo Bay.

Happy Dollars: Rick Fuller, Brenda Ho, Suzane Woolley for the Wilsons' party, Walter
Azevedo for the first meeting of the year and the fact that it is sunny, Wana Agasa agreed on the
sunny day, Jim Ferguson because it was good to be back from cold Texas, Gary Safarik in honor
of Elvis Presley's birthday, Tom English for Gary's radio show that he didn't have this week, and
Phoebe Lambeth for the good time had by her with Nana at South Lake Tahoe.
Announcements: Please bring children's (K – 6) books to the next two meetings. They will be
brought to Thailand for the school hosting the Wilsons. The list of proposed Club officers and
board members was read. The list will be voted on at the next meeting.
