Funding opportunity for Volunteer Involving Organisations
Volunteer Now is inviting applications for the European Year of Volunteering
2011 Small Grants Programme which is funded by the Department for Social
Development. This grant programme is designed to encourage and support
volunteering by funding a wide range of volunteer-involving organisations.
It is targeted specifically at projects with an annual income of less than £100,000
that promote volunteering amongst people not in paid work and other groups who
are currently under-represented in the volunteering population. The Programme
makes grants of up to £1,500 available to small, locally based volunteer-involving
organisations which address at least one of the objectives of the European Year
of Volunteering:
   - Creating an enabling environment for volunteering
   - Improve the quality of voluntary activities
   - Rewarding and recognizing voluntary activities and
   - Raising awareness about the value and importance of volunteering

Lindsay Armstrong SE Regional Manager, Volunteer Now said, “This is an
excellent funding opportunity for small volunteer involving organisations which
fulfil the criteria of the grant. It will enable them to support existing volunteers
and recruit new volunteers and will highlight the objectives of the European Year
of Volunteering.”

Details of eligibility, guidelines for applicants and application forms are available
to download from www.volunteernow.co.uk or contact Sandra Faulkner at
Volunteer Now on 028 9023 2020 or email
