applications at the Technical University Munich during the period
1976-1983. Several international cooperations on technological
developments and lecturing tours.
1984-1987 employed as an electrophoresis products and applications
specialist at LKB Instrument GmbH and 1987-1990 at Pharmacia
Biotech. Worldwide lectures and seminars activities. Author of several
publications, book chapters, and two books ("Electrophoresis in
Practice", VCH Weinheim, 1993, second edition 1997, third edition
2001, fourth edition 2004 at WILEY-VCH; and together with Tom
Naven: “Proteomics in Practice”, WILEY-VCH Weinheim, May 2002).
Founded a new company in 1991 called ETC Elektrophorese-Technik
for the development of new electrophoresis methods, media, and
equipment. From January 1996 to July 1997 manager scientific support
Europe at Pharmacia Biotech in Freiburg, Germany. From July 1997 to
December 2002 application manager for Proteomics on a global basis
at Amersham Pharmacia Biotech. Since January 2002 senior scientist
for Proteomics at Amersham Biosciences, now called GE-Healthcare.
Main activities are: running seminars, courses on 2D-electrophoresis,
writing reviews and book chapters.
