The first material regarding the synthesis and effects of 5-MeO-DALT was sent ChemSpider 21106245

from Alexander Shulgin to a researcher named Murple in May 2004, after which it Chemical data
was circulated online. In June 2004 5-MeO-DALT became available from internet Formula C17 H22 N2 O

There are numerous anecdotal reports of users consuming dosages far in excess
those tested by Alexander Shulgin, there is no published literature on the toxicity of 5-MeO-DALT. By far, the most dangerous
effect seems to be retrograde amnesia from consuming excess amounts of this material.

Legality
5-MeO-DALT is unscheduled in the United States. It is also legal in the UK because the allyl group is not an alkyl group,
which the law requires for a tryptamine to be illegal. 5-MeO-DALT became a controlled substance in Japan from April of
2007, by amendment to the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law.[3]
