Enduring Understandings
Students will understand that…
   A. Earth is a geologically active planet.
   B. Huge quantities of energy are always acting on the surface of the Earth and its
      interior.
   C. Observable evidence in the present gives information about processes and events
      that occurred in the past.




Essential Questions

   How can we demonstrate that Earth is a geologically active planet?
   How do Earth’s different systems/processes interact?
   How do different sources of energy act on the Earth?
   Why does the surface of the Earth change?
   How does what we see today tell us about the Earth’s past?
