Geography “The World and It’s People”
These two books will be combined for the seventh grade social studies class. Each
subject will be studied for eighteen weeks equaling one semester. The civics course will provide
students with basic knowledge and skills for functioning in modern American society. We will
discuss such topics as, our role as a citizen in the United States, the working of the American
government, and the economy.
In geography, we will emphasize the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a
geographic perspective. We will explore different cultures from all over the world. By the end
of the course, students should understand the fundamental physical and human patterns on the
Earth’s surface as well as the processes that created these patterns.

MAKE UP WORK POLICY:
All work is expected on time. If you have an excused absence, you will have a
reasonable amount of time for each excused absence to make up work. No make-up work for
unexcused absences is permitted. It is the student’s responsibility to do his/her assignments and
hand them in on time.
