               Dry gas temperature can be set > 200 °C, as with the high resistive glass
               capillary no signal breakdown occurs which is known from ESI-TOF systems.

 Pre-Trap Module 1
 A multipole which is currently used for ion transfer only.

 Bipolar Ion Gate 2
 • Fast response to ensure stable signal intensities at very low accumulation times
 • Both polarities are blocked efficiently (e.g. from 0 V for transmission to +50 V and
   -50 V for blocking)
 (HCT/esquire Series: One half of the split Lens 1 is used for blocking – slow response and
 inefficient for opposite polarity)

 Detector Gate 3
 Lens behind the ion trap which is open for transmission during scan procedures only.
