                                          «CIVIC EDUCATION IN
                                         THE RUSSIAN FAR EAST:

                                  ACTIVITIES OF THE PARTNERSHIP
                                    CIVITAS EASTERN RUSSIA
Civitas: An International Civic Education Exchange Program is administered by the Center for Civic Education and funded by
                                      the United States Department of Education under
                   the Education for Democracy Act approved by the United States Congress. The program
    is implemented in more than 80 countries all over the world in cooperation with the United States Department of State.

       CIVITAS Eastern Russia is an international partnership established in 2001 as part of the CIVITAS International
                                             It unites the state of Alaska (USA),
                  Primorie, Khabarovsk and Kamchatka krais, Sakhalin and Magadan regions (Russia).

Changes in the Program are possible

The goal of the Conference:
To determine priorities in forming a system of youth civic education as a united educational environment in
the Russian Far East.

Objectives:

   To share information about the Partnership CIVITAS Eastern Russia, its goals, projects, activities and
    achievements of the regions-members of the Partnership in years 2007 - 2008,
   To present information about the programs of the Center for Civic Education and the program CIVITAS
    International (USA),
   To exchange experience in using innovative methods and technologies in civic education,
   To discuss the mechanism of interaction of authorities, communities and business in the upbringing of a
    citizen,
   To discuss activities for forming a system of youth civic education as a united educational environment in
    the Russian Far East,
   To present the organizations working in the area of civic education in the Russian Far East.
