Mr. King has been a local government manager for over 20 years with a broad
range of experience in City Management, Public Works, Utility Management,
Emergency Management, Economic Development, Budgetary and Personnel
Management. He has served as City Manager of Manitou Springs, Colorado
where he managed the construction of the City’s Water Treatment Plant and had
successes in historic preservation and community redevelopment in a city with
5,000 residents and 25,000 summer visitors.
He had a full career with the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a city with a
population of 350,000+ and multiple military bases and training facilities. He held
several Public Works Management positions including Deputy Public Works
Director, Street Division Manager and Strategic Projects Manager. He frequently
received acclaim for outstanding innovations and organizational efficiencies.
Mr. King most recently served as City Manager of Monticello, Georgia where he
successfully restored significant negative fund balances, managed municipal and
utility operations and managed infrastructure projects.
Mr. King has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and a Master of City
Management Degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City,
