BYRON UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
Under the supervision of the Program Administrator and Director/Lead Teacher, the teacher in the
preschool program shall be responsible for maintaining a successful learning environment for all students.
This position may require the designee to be assigned to more than one facility location. This is an hourly
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
To teach children from a prescribed curriculum.
To work under the guidance and instruction of the Lead Teacher and Director.
To assist in maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment for children in care.
To perform all of the Duties set forth in Title 22 Section 101216.1 of the California Code of Regulations
Have knowledge of the Child Abuse and other Reporting Requirements as set forth in Title 22 Section
101212 of the California Code of Regulations.
To attend all required staff trainings and meetings
To perform all job related duties as directed by the Administrator, Director and/or Lead Teacher
Must have completed no less than 12 postsecondary units in Early Childhood education. Or possess a
Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. (Permit must
Current CPR/FIRST AID/PREVENTIVE HEALTH Certification is required.
Must have current Criminal Record/FBI and Child Abuse Index clearances.
Must have a current Physician’s Report and TB Test result.
Must be capable of teaching assigned curriculum.
Must work well with staff, children and parents.
Have knowledge and experience with Reggio Emelia, Project Approach and NAEYC best practices
