     This instruction describes the duties, responsibilities, and general information associated with the
     duty positions of Det 630s Cadet Corps. IAW AFROTCI 36-2017 (paragraph 1.2.3.3.5.), each
     cadet officer serves at least one term in a qualifying leadership position. “*” denotes a leadership
     position. The instruction applies to all cadets at Detachment 630.

                                            Section 1
                                        Senior Wing Staff

1.1. Cadet Wing Commander (630 CW/CC)*
   1.1.1. Function: Supervise and direct all actions within the cadet wing.
   1.1.2. The CW/CC is responsible to the COC.
   1.1.3. Duties:
          1.1.3.1. Ensure Air Force Core Values and Esprit De Corps are incorporated.
          1.1.3.2. Appearance, discipline, effectiveness, and conduct of the cadet wing.
          1.1.3.3. Coordinate with the COC.
          1.1.3.4. Accomplish all tasks as stated in the mission directive.
          1.1.3.5. Supervise staff.
          1.1.3.6. Ensure the cadet corps has sufficient operating funds.
          1.1.3.7. Plan and coordinate all wing activities pertinent to the purpose and mission of
          AFROTC.
          1.1.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
          1.1.3.9. Update continuity folder.
1.2. Wing Vice-Commander (630 CW/CV)*
   1.2.1. Function: Supervise OG/CC, MXG/CC, SG/CC.
   1.2.2. The CW/CV is responsible to the CW/CC.
   1.2.3. Duties:
          1.2.3.1. Ensure Air Force Core Values and Esprit De Corps are incorporated.
          1.2.3.2. Execute and regulate CW/CC and wing policies.
          1.2.3.3. Effectively supervise OG/CC, MXG/CC, MSG/CC.
          1.2.3.4. Organize and execute awards presentations at Leadership Laboratory.
          1.2.3.5. Collect monthly award nominations and ensure documents are available.

          1.2.3.6. Assume command of the cadet wing in the absence of the CW/CC.
          1.2.3.7. Update continuity folder.

1.3. Cadet Wing Commander Advisor (630 CW/CCA)
   1.3.1. Function: Assists the cadet wing commander.
   1.3.2. The CW/CCA is responsible to the CW/CC.
   1.3.3. Duties:
          1.3.3.1. Ensure cadet award records are updated each semester IAW CWI 36-11.
          1.3.3.2. Track and update the cadet leadership position tracker and LLab test scores.
          1.3.3.3. Update the ushering tracker for the CW/IG.
          1.3.3.4. Provide CW/CC with advise, guidance, and continuity based on past
          experience.
          1.3.3.5. Update continuity folder.
          1.3.3.6. Perform other duties as assigned.
1.4. Wing Inspector General (630 CW/IG)*
   1.4.1. Function: Conduct inspections, ensure standardization, and ensure cadet wing
   compliance with regulations.
   1.4.2. The CW/IG is responsible to the CW/CC
   1.4.3. Duties:
          1.4.3.1. Appearance, cleanliness, safety, military image, and conduct of the cadet wing.
          1.4.3.2. Standardization of operations within and among all positions.
          1.4.3.3. Conduct inspections IAW AFI 36-2903, AFROTCI 36-2008 and AFMAN 36-
          2203.
          1.4.3.4. Monitor wing complaint system and refer cadets to appropriate office when
          concerns arise.
          1.4.3.5. Plan criteria for Honor Flight and Warrior Flight and publish material NLT
          TW1.
          1.4.3.6. Ensure all documents in circulation throughout the detachment are IAW AFH
          33-337, the Tongue and Quill.
          1.4.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          1.4.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
1.5. GMC Advisor (630 CW/GMCA)
   1.5.1. Function: Serve as liaison between POC and GMC.
   1.5.2. The CW/GMCA is responsible to the CW/CC.
   1.5.3. Duties:
          1.5.3.1. Hold meetings with the GMC to gain input concerning problems within GMC
          and possible solutions to problems.
          1.5.3.2. Offer insight to the GMC on POC and wing operations.
          1.5.3.3. Provide recommendations to CW/CC and/or CW staff based on GMC inputs.
          1.5.3.4. Advise of problems within GMC and offer solutions.
          1.5.3.4. Perform other duties as assigned

                                             Section 2
                                         Operations Group
2.1. Wing Operations Group Commander (630 OG/CC)*
    2.1.1. Function: Supervise and direct the operations group of the cadet wing.
    2.1.2. The OG/CC is responsible to the CW/CC.
    2.1.3. Duties:
           2.1.3.1. Ensure adherence to Air Force Core Values.
           2.1.3.2. Plan LLab (LLab) activities IAW AFROTC directives , requirements, cadet
           wing operations plan and COC guidance.
           2.1.3.3. Produce Operations Orders for weekly LLab, weekly Physical Training (PT)
           sessions, and weekly Field Training Preparation (FTP) sessions.
           2.1.3.4. Foster total quality management and mutual respect in the Operations Group.
           2.1.3.5. Appearance, training, effectiveness, discipline, and conduct of the cadet
           operations group.
           2.1.3.6. Ensure all cadet leaders in the Operations Group understand goals IAW T-508.
           2.1.3.7. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
           2.1.3.8. Update continuity folder.
           2.1.3.9. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.2.   Wing Operations Group Vice Commander (630 OG/VC)*
    2.2.1. Function: Work directly for the OG/CC to assist the supervision and direction of the
    operations group of the cadet wing.
    2.2.2. The OG/CV is responsible to the OG/CC.
    2.2.3. Duties:
            2.2.3.1. Assist with OG/CC duties 1-6 as outlined above.
            2.2.3.2. Update continuity folder.
            2.2.3.3. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.3.   Field Leadership Exercise Planning Officer (630 OG/FLX)*
    2.3.1. Function: Plan Detachment Spring Semester Field Leadership Exercise
    2.3.2. The OG/FLX is responsible to the OG/CV.
    2.3.3. Duties:
          2.3.3.1. Create a detailed plan for the execution of a FLX
          2.3.3.2. Coordinate with all available assets to OG/CC and OG/CV
          2.3.3.3. Provide bi-weekly progress reports to OG/CC and OG/CV
          2.3.3.4. Ensure activities proposed for the FLX fall in line with the operational mission of
                   the Air Force.
          2.3.3.5. Create detailed operations orders for the FLX.
          2.3.3.6. Brief detailed plan to Wing Staff three weeks prior to event.
          2.3.3.7. Build and update a detailed continuity binder for the OG/FLX position.
          2.3.3.8. This position will only be filled during the Spring semester.
          2.3.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.

2.4.   Operations Squadron Commander (630 OS/CC)*
    2.4.1. Function: Supervise a cadet operations squadron.
    2.4.2. The OS/CC is responsible to the OG/CC.
    2.4.3. Duties:
          2.4.3.1. Oversee Flight Commanders (FLT/CC’s).
          2.4.3.2. Relay information from the OG/CC to FLT/CC’s.
          2.4.3.3. Act as liaison between FLT/CC’s and Senior Wing Staff.
          2.4.3.4. Promote Esprit de Corps within the squadron.
          2.4.3.5. Assist OG/CC in writing operations orders for weekly LLab.
          2.4.3.6. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          2.4.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          2.4.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.5.   Flight Commander (630 FLT/CC)
    2.5.1. Function: Supervise and direct training of flights.
    2.5.2. The FLT/CC is responsible to the OS/CC.
    2.5.3. Duties:
          2.5.3.1. Carry out weekly operations orders.
          2.5.3.2. Maintain the appearance, discipline, efficiency, and conduct of the flight.
          2.5.3.3. Train cadets in areas such as customs & courtesies, drill, uniform wear, etc.

          2.5.3.4. Assign positions within the flight to give cadets opportunity to develop leadership
          skills.
          2.5.3.5. Promoting Esprit de Corps within flight.
          2.5.3.6. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.

2.6.   Operations Support Squadron Commander (630 OSS/CC)*
    2.6.1. Function: Supervise and direct actions of operations support squadron.
    2.6.2. The OSS/CC is responsible to the OG/CC.
    2.6.3. Duties:
           2.6.3.1. Ensure LLab start’s and end’s on time.
           2.6.3.2. Ensure LLab stay’s on schedule.
           2.6.3.3. Carry out operations orders as needed.
           2.6.3.4. Produce weekly PT and FTP operations orders.
           2.6.3.5. Write after action reports for LLab.
           2.6.3.6. Make announcements at LLab and send announcements to cadet corps via e-
           mail NLT Wednesday after LLab.
           2.6.3.7. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
           2.6.3.8. Update continuity folder.
           2.6.3.9. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.7.   Physical Fitness Officer (630 OSS/PT)
    2.7.1. Function: Supervise/direct all physical fitness and/or athletic activities within the
    detachment.

   2.7.2. The OSS/PT is responsible to the OSS/CC.
   2.7.3. Duties:
          2.7.3.1. Operate the cadet wing fitness program and enhance the physical fitness of
          cadets and ready them to meet AF fitness standards.
          2.7.3.2. Motivate cadets to live a physically fit lifestyle.
          2.7.3.3. Brief all cadets during the Fall term on hydration, heat stress disorders, the
          importance of monitoring one’s physical condition, and promptly reporting problems to
          cadre. IAW AFROTCMAN 36-201
                   2.7.3.3.1. During Spring semester, brief cadets new to the program or returning
                   form a period of non-attendance.
          2.7.3.4. Update the Physical Fitness Attendance Tracker weekly.
          2.7.3.5. Coordinate cadet wing Physical Fitness Tests IAW AFROTC guidelines.
          2.7.3.6. Prepare and post PT Operations orders weekly.
          2.7.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          2.7.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.8. Field Training Preparation Officer (630 OSS/FTP)*
   2.8.1. Function: Supervise and direct training for FTP cadets.
   2.8.2. The OSS/FTP is responsible to the OSS/CC.
   2.8.3. Duties:
          2.8.3.1. Prepare a FTP (FTP) Operations Plan prior to the beginning of each semester to
          present to the COC.
          2.8.3.2. Train FTP cadets IAW AFOATS T-203, AFROTC Field Training Manual and
          AFMAN 36-2203, Drill and Ceremonies Manual.
          2.8.3.3. Familiarize FTP cadets with evaluation forms: AFROTC IMT 27, Field
          Training Performance Report and AFOATS IMT 2, Leadership Effectiveness Report.
          2.8.3.4. Assure cadets adhere to Air Force Core Values.
          2.8.3.5. Hold focused and well-planned FTP Training weekly sessions.
          2.8.3.6. Update FTP tracker weekly.
          2.8.3.7. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          2.8.3.8. Update continuity folder.
          2.8.3.9. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.9. Field Training Preparation Assistant (630 OSS/FTPA)
   2.9.1. Function: Work directly for the OSS/FTP to assist in training FTP cadets.
   2.9.2. The OSS/FTPA is responsible to the OSS/FTP.
   2.9.3. Duties:
          2.9.3.1. Assist OSS/FTP with duties 1-6 as outlined above.
          2.9.3.2. Update continuity folder.

2.10. Drill and Ceremonies Officer (630 OSS/DC)
   2.10.1. Function: Supervise and direct all tasks at LLabs’s associated with D&C.
   2.10.2. The OSS/DC is responsible to the OG/CC.
   2.10.3. Duties:
           2.10.3.1. Ensure D&C training IAW AFMAN 36-2203, Drill and Ceremonies Manual.

          2.10.3.2. Ensure POC cadets are notified/prepared in advance for D&C training at
          LLab.
          2.10.3.3. Plan/coordinate end of semester cadet wing change of command

          2.10.3.6. Perform other duties as assigned.
2.11. Drill and Ceremonies Assistance (630 OSS/DCA)
   2.11.1. Function: Work directly for the OSS/DC to assist with all D&C tasks at LLab.
   2.11.2. The OSS/DCA is responsible to the OSS/DC.
   2.11.3. Duties:
           2.11.3.1. Assist OSS/DC with duties 1-3 as outlined above.

                                           Maintenance Group

3.1. Wing Maintenance Group Commander (630 MXG/CC)*
   3.1.1. Function: Supervise and direct the maintenance group of the cadet wing.
   3.1.2. The MXG/CC is responsible to the CW/CC.
   3.1.3. Duties:
          3.1.3.1. Appearance, effectiveness, training, and conduct of the maintenance group.
          3.1.3.2. Proper logistical supply and/or set-up during LLab and other cadet functions.
          3.1.3.3. Morale, welfare, and recreation for the cadet wing.
          3.1.3.4. Provide assistance to the squadron commanders.
          3.1.3.5. Assist CW/IG in continuity folder inspection.
          3.1.3.6. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          3.1.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          3.1.3.8. Perform duties as assigned.
3.2. Maintenance Operation Squadron Commander (630 MOS/CC)
   3.2.1. Function: Supervise and direct actions of the Logistics Support Squadron.
   3.2.2. The MOS/CC is responsible to the MXG/CC.
   3.2.3. Duties:
          3.2.3.1. Maintain inventory of on-hand supplies for the cadet wing.
          3.2.3.2. Ensure MWR activities are planned and announced in advance.
          3.2.3.3. Provide necessary logistics for LLab.
          3.2.3.4. Distribute supplies to functional areas of the cadet wing.
          3.2.3.5. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          3.2.3.6. Update continuity folder.
          3.2.3.7. Perform other duties as assigned.
3.3. Supply Officer (630 MOS/SO)
   3.3.1. Function: Maintain cadet wing supplies.

   3.3.2. The MOS/SO is responsible to the MOS/CC.
   3.3.3. Duties:
          3.3.3.1. Maintain a clean and organized supply room.
          3.3.3.2. Provide accurate records of supplies on hand, disbursed, or signed out.
          3.3.3.3. Ensure all POC cadets receive new rank prior to each semester
          3.3.3.4. Provide new ribbons to cadets at the beginning of each semester.
          3.3.3.5. Supply cadet corps with printer cartridges, computer paper, ring binders, and
          other office supplies as needed.
          3.3.3.6. Responsible for inventory, issuing, and reissue of uniform items under the
          advisment of a cadre member.
          3.3.3.7. Perform other duties as assigned.
          3.3.3.8. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          3.3.3.9. Update continuity folder.

3.4. Supply Officer Assistant (630 MOS/SOA)

    3.4.1. Function: Work directly with the MOS/SO to maintain wing supplies.
    3.4.2. The MXS/SOA is responsible to the MOS/SO.
    3.4.3. Duties:
           3.4.3.1. Assist MOS/SO with duties 1-7 outlined above.
           3.4.3.2. Perform other duties as assigned.
           3.4.3.3. Update continuity folder
3.5. Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Officer (630 MOS/MWR)
   3.5.1. Function: Prepare and plan cadet wing MWR activities.
   3.5.2. The MOS/MWR is responsible to the MOS/CC.
   3.5.3. Duties:
          3.5.3.1. Plan MWR activities and announce them in advance to promote esprit de corps.
          3.5.3.2. Update continuity folder.
          3.5.3.3. Perform other duties as assigned.
3.6. Maintenance Squadron Commander (630 MXS/CC)
   3.6.1. Function: Supervise and direct actions of the Maintenance Squadron.
   3.6.2. The MXS/CC is responsible to the MXG/CC.
   3.6.3. Duties:
          3.6.3.1. Ensue cadet wing roster is accurate and updated
          3.6.3.2. Ensure all computer and/or technical components needed for LLab are prepared
          for use prior to each event.
          3.6.3.3. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          3.6.3.4. Update continuity folder.
          3.6.3.5. Perform other duties as assigned.
3.7. Information Management Officer (630 MXS/IM)
   3.7.1. Function: Update and maintain all cadet wing files.
   3.7.2. The MXS/IM is responsible to the MXS/CC.
   3.7.3. Duties:
          3.7.3.1. Prepare, update, and distribute cadet wing roster throughout the cadet corps.

          3.7.3.2. Update the cadet attendance tracker weekly.
          3.7.3.3. Assist cadet wing staff with updating and/or organizing cadet files.
          3.7.3.4. Update/organize cadet mailboxes.
          3.7.3.5. Update the cadet wing organizational chart on the community board at the
          beginning of each semester.
          3.7.3.6. Update continuity folder.
          3.7.3.7. Perform other duties as assigned.
3.8. Computer Support Officer (630 MXS/CS)
   3.8.1. Function: Assist all computer operations.
   3.8.2. The MXS/CS is responsible to the MXS/CC.
   3.8.3. Duties:
          3.8.3.1. Prepare technical components prior to use at LLab.
          3.8.3.2. Assist cadre/cadets with computer presentations during LLab.
          3.8.3.3. Identify and report computer problems to the MXS/CC or cadre.
          3.8.3.4. Update continuity folder.
          3.8.3.5. Perform other duties as assigned.

                                          Section 4
                                    Mission Support Group

4.1. Wing Mission Support Group Commander (630 MSG/CC)*
   4.1.1. Function: Supervise and direct the mission support group of the cadet wing.
   4.1.2. The MSG/CC is responsible to the CW/CC.
   4.1.3. Duties:
          4.1.3.1. Appearance, effectiveness, training, and conduct of the mission support group.
          4.1.3.2. Monitor progress of each squadron within the MSG.
          4.1.3.3. Ensure CW/CC and cadre (if necessary) are briefed on progress of special
          projects.
          4.1.3.5. Ensure CW/CC and cadre are notified of any extracurricular events involving
          AFROTC.
          4.1.3.6. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          4.1.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          4.1.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.2. Services Squadron Commander (630 SVS/CC)
   4.2.1. Function: Supervise and direct the services squadron of the cadet wing.
   4.2.2. The SVS/CC is responsible to the MSG/CC.
   4.2.3. Duties:
          4.2.3.1. Ensure special projects are planned well in advance.
          4.2.3.2. Present briefings (frequency at discretion of CW/CC) concerning status of
          special projects.
          4.2.3.3. Brief cadre as needed concerning status of special projects events.
          4.2.3.4. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          4.2.3.5. Update continuity folder.
          4.2.3.6. Perform other duties as assigned.

4.3. Special Projects Officer (630 SVS/SP)
   4.3.1. Function: Plan and direct cadet wing special events as outlined in the Mission Directive.
   4.3.2. The SVS/SP is responsible to the SVS/CC.
   4.3.3. Duties:
          4.3.3.1. Plan, organize, and direct cadet wing special events as outlined in the Mission
          Directive.
          4.3.3.2. Regularly provide feedback concerning the status of Special Projects.
          4.3.3.3. Assist the SVS/CC in briefing the cadet wing staff/cadre.
          4.3.3.4. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          4.3.3.5. Update continuity folder.
          4.3.3.6. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.4. Special Projects Officer Assistant (630 SVS/SPA)
   4.4.1. Function: Work directly for the SVS/SP to assist in planning cadet wing special events
   as outlined in the Mission Directive.
   4.4.2. The SVS/SPA is responsible to the SVS/SP.
   4.4.3. Duties:
           4.4.3.1. Assist with duties 1-3 as outlined above.

4.5. Public Affairs Officer (630 SVS/PA)

4.6. Mission Support Squadron Commander (630 MSS/CC)
   4.6.1. Function: Supervise and direct the communications squadron of the cadet wing.
   4.6.2. The MSS/CC is responsible to the MSG/CC.
   4.6.3. Duties:
          4.6.3.1. Ensure Civil Air Patrol (CAP) monitor is routinely searching for opportunities
          for CAP sorties.
          4.6.3.2. Ensure Warrior Knowledge Manuals are prepared/updated.
          4.6.3.3. Ensure COM/LO actively communicates with other ROTC cadet corps.
          4.6.3.4. Ensure Warrior Knowledge Tests are prepared and questions are accurate.
          4.6.3.5. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
          4.6.3.7. Update continuity folder.
          4.6.3.8. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.7. Civil Air Patrol-Base Visit Officer (630 MSS/CAP-BV)

   4.7.1. Function: Actively seek opportunities for cadets to participate in flying Civil Air Patrol
   (CAP) sorties and coordinate all cadet Base Visit (BV) activities.
   4.7.2. The MSS/CAP-BV is responsible to the MSS/CC and COC/UAO.
   4.7.3. Duties:
          4.7.3.1. Monitor all CAP program requirements.
                   4.7.3.1.1. Notify cadets in advance, if possible of available CAP flights and
                   times.
                   4.7.3.1.2. Collect CAP flight sheets from cadets who participated in flights and
                   turn in sheets to COC the next LLab after CAP flights.
                   4.7.3.1.3. Update monthly progress on CAP sorties and turn in report to COC.
          4.7.3.2. Report to UAO on all BV coordination activities
          4.7.3.3. Update continuity folder.
          4.7.3.4. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.8. Cadet Education Officer (630 MSS/EO)
   4.8.1. Function: Supervise and direct education functions within the cadet wing.
   4.8.2. The COM/EO is responsible directly to the Detachment EO.
   4.8.3. Duties:
          4.8.3.1. Assist EO plan, organize, and schedule study tables.
          4.8.3.2. Assist EO in organize, and supervise the cadet mentor program.
          4.8.3.3. Prepare/update Warrior Knowledge booklets at the beginning of each semester
          (if needed).
          4.8.3.4. Prepare Warrior Knowledge Tests for LLab and provide scores to the CCA.
          4.8.3.5. Update continuity folder.
          4.8.3.6. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.9. Liaison Officer (630 MSS/LO)
   4.9.1. Function: Establish/Maintain contact with other cadet corps.
   4.9.2. The MSS/LO is responsible to the MSS/CC.
   4.9.3. Duties:
          4.9.3.1. Contact other cadet corps at various ROTC detachments to gain insight and/or
          ideas for LLab, extracurricular events, PMT’s other than LLab, etc.
          4.9.3.2. Submit monthly reports to MSS/CC outlining contacts to other detachments.
          4.9.3.3. Update continuity folder.
          4.9.3.4. Perform other duties as assigned.
4.10. Cadet Wing Recruiting Officer Squadron Commander (630 ROS/CC)
   4.10.1. Function: Supervise and direct the recruiting squadron.
   4.10.2. The ROS/CC is responsible directly to the UAO.
   4.10.3. Duties:
           4.10.3.1. Assist with implementation of the detachment’s retention and recruiting plan.
           4.10.3.2. Act as liaison between each recruiting officer and the UAO.
           4.10.3.3. Supply each recruiting officer with supplies to carry out mission.
           4.10.3.4. Write evaluations on direct subordinates.
           4.10.3.5. Update continuity folder.

           4.11.3.1. Organize recruiting events on the campuses listed above IAW UAO
           objectives.

4.12. Akron Cadet Recruiting Officer (630 ROS/ARO)
   4.12.1. Function: Recruiting for the University of Akron, Case Western Reserve University
   and Baldwin Wallace College.
   4.12.2. The ROS/ARO is responsible to the ROS/CC.
   4.12.3. Duties:
           4.12.3.1. Organize recruiting events on the campuses listed above IAW UAO
           objectives.

4.13. High School Cadet Recruiting Officer (630 ROS/HRO)
   4.13.1. Function: Recruiting for nearby high schools and high schools of current cadets.
   4.13.2. The ROS/HRO is responsible to the ROS/CC.

           4.13.3.1. Organize recruiting events at nearby high schools and high schools of current
           cadets IAW UAO objectives.
           4.13.3.2. Organize recruiting events on the KSU campus for high schools IAW UAO
           objectives.
