Lafarge maintains a strong commitment to the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program.
Testing will take place if the Company has reasonable suspicion that any
employee has violated the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy. Reasonable
suspicion of alcohol or drug abuse must be established before starting the test
sequence. The following guidelines should be used in to determine the proper
steps that should be taken:
Circumstances under which an employee may be tested for Controlled
Substance and Alcohol:
Post-Accident (Property Damage in the value exceeds $1,000.00 and
Injury that requires medical attention)
Reasonable suspicion – Reasonable suspicion is based on specific
personal observations that the employer representative can describe
concerning the appearance, behavior, speech, or breath odor of an
employee, where the odor is detected in addition to appearance,
behavior or speech.
If the employee is not injured, the department manager or designee will proceed
with the following protocol:
If a non-injury Property Damage incident occurs and/or if reasonable suspicion of
alcohol or drug abuse by an employee has been established, the immediate
supervisor or designee will escort the employee to a medical facility for a drug and

an employee injury and that you need to speak to an RN. If the RN deems it
necessary to for the employee to be treated by a Doctor, follow steps below.
If an employee is injured and requires immediate medical care, the department
manager or designee will dispatch an ambulance, if needed, to the proper location. If
an ambulance is not required, the employee shall be escorted to the medical facility.
Inform the medical facility and/ or EMS that the employee is to be tested for alcohol
