Students: Tonight is Open House from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please encourage your parents or guardian to come and
meet your teachers and hear what they have planned for this school year.

There will be a Community Service Workshop today during lunch (12:15p.m.-1 p.m.) in room 5-117. You
must attend a workshop in order to receive credit for your service hours.

Students: You must have a current student ID so you can check in and check out of school.

Students: The recycle bins are for paper and plastic materials only. Please do not put garbage or other items in
these containers.

Students: If you signed up for Drivers Ed on Saturdays, the first class will be Sept. 8 at 8 a.m. in room 5-209.

Students: Do you need an interactive notebook? See Ms. Ward in the main to purchase one for $1.50.

Textbook Checkout and Returns: For the remainder of the year, textbook check outs and returns will take place
in the attendance reception area. When requesting a book, you are to complete the textbook request form
located on the clipboard on the reception counter. Ms. Ponce will have your textbook(s) ready for you the next
day in the same location. Note: You may only return textbooks when Ms. Ponce is present.

Students that are interested in painting their parking spot can pick up the information from Ms. Wasarhaley in
room 2-116. The cost is $10.
                                       COLLEGE INFORMATION
Bethune Cookman will be visiting on September 12th at 9 a.m. To attend the visit you must sign up in the
guidance office and be on track to meet college entrance standards. The meeting is open to juniors and seniors.

Stetson University will be visiting on September 13th at 8 a.m. To attend the visit you must sign up in the
guidance office and be on track to meet college entrance standards. The meeting is open to juniors and seniors.

All 11th grade students who wish to participate in the National Merit Scholarship, you must sign up with Ms.
Ward in building 1-120. The cost of taking the PSAT is $14.00 and you will need to sign up by 09/07/2012.
The PSAT will be given on October 17. If you need further information please contact Mr. Butler in the
Counselor office.

Attention all students participating in fall sports. You must pay the $75 Pay to Participate fee before your first
game. Money can be turned into the Athletic Office in 5-102.
There will be a Girls Basketball meeting on Wednesday September 12 @ 2 p.m. in 5-117 for any girl interested
in playing basketball this year.

Thursday, 9/6 - HOSA (Future Health Professionals) - 3 p.m. Room 6-102. New members are always
welcome. Refreshments will be served.
Friday, 9/7 - Gay -Straight Alliance - 12:15 pm-1 pm. The FIRST EVER meeting of the Gay-Straight
Alliance during lunch in building 9, room 102! This club will work to improve the school climate for ALL
students! Questions? See Mr. Rivera in the Counseling office or Ms. Tyson in building 5 room 106 on the
