KS2 local visit opportunity.
I am delighted to say that we have been given the opportunity to take the KS2
children on a day trip to the Erewash Museum in Ilkeston:
www.erewashmuseum.co.uk to have a look around their current exhibition on mining.
This will fit in very well with the current topic. The date is 17th May. The voluntary
contribution we will be asking for from all key stage two parents is the cost of the
public transport that will take us there. More details will follow. For the time being,
please just out the date on your calendar.
Helen O Grady Drama
The after school club will continue throughout the entire Summer Term. It will remain
on Wednesday evenings after school: 3.30pm-4.pm-a member of school staff will
supervise the children; 4pm-5pm Helen O Grady Staff run the drama club. If you
would like to come and meet the team who run the club, maybe have a taster
session and find out a little bit more then please come along on any Wednesday to
talk to Tom or Amy. Once again, there is a full scholarship place available for one
pupil. To apply for the scholarship this time, a child should prepare a short poem,
song, dance or joke which they will perform to a small panel of staff who will then
decide collectively who to award the scholarship to. Auditions will be on Monday 16th
A piece of lovely news
I am so pleased to be able to share with you a comment made by the driver of the
school swimming bus last week. He said that our children must be the most polite in
all of Nottingham! Isn’t that wonderful?
The staff and I are really excited about a new, on line, virtual work out site that we
have registered our school with. The cost that we have paid allows all pupils and
their families to access the brilliant resources on any computer at any time. All you
need is the web address: www.cyber-smart.co.uk Then search for the log in robot:
our e mail is email@example.com and our password is ng162pg.
Try it and let us know what you think!!
Thanks to Noah (Rainbows), Lauren and Isabelle’s (Robins) family for donating a
wonderful array of toys, games and books to school over the previous couple of
weeks. Your support really does make a difference.
Sport relief grand total
The final total which our school raised for sports relief was a wonderful £115! Thank
you so much to everyone who contributed.

Kimberley Farmers Market - Easter Special with Easter Egg Hunt for Children
‘EASTER CHICK DAWN SAYS "HI!" Dawn Skermer and her 400 hens are all ready
for the Easter rush on eggs at Kimberley Farmers Market on Saturday 7th April.
(9am until 1pm) - Toll Bar Square, Kimberley
Along with Dawn on Toll Bar Square that day will be regular traders in fruit and veg;
speciality cheeses; organic meat; jam, pickles and chutneys from home grown
ingredients; and spicy Indian snacks and curry sauces.
At the Easter market new traders will be offering mouth-watering pies with fruit, meat
and fish fillings; home baked bread and cakes; delicious savoury Scotch eggs and a
range of smoked meats; and the ever-popular low fat ostrich products.
Alongside the food for people there will be a big variety of wild bird food and feeders;
soap and bath products; books by a local author; and a children's face painter. This
Easter Egg-stravaganza will be presided over by The Easter Bunny himself, handing
out prizes for an Easter Egg Hunt that all the children can join in.
There's no better place to be on Easter Saturday morning - put it on your calendar
Easter in school
Please remember that the Easter celebration event will take place in school at
approximately 9.15am on Thursday 29th March. All the children will be singing
songs, very much like the Christmas celebration event. We like as many parents,
family and friends to support the children by coming along to watch. Children may
also wear an Easter bonnet and decorate an egg to enter into our usual
See you at tomorrow!
Many thanks again to everyone for your support during the spring term. Have a
lovely Easter break; let’s hope that the weather stays as fine. We look forward to
welcoming you back to school on Monday 16th April at 8.40am.
