Nared’s PeeWee Palace & Nared’s PeeWee Palace ll are
licensed by the State of Nebraska. Parents are welcome to visit
our childcare center at any time during the hours of operation.

Philosophy:

To provide a secure and safe learning environment for all children that
encourages self expression (care for self) and group responsibility (care for
others); offers an arena through which your children may discover and
express their personal potential through exploration, and experimentation. It
is important for parents to feel good about bringing their children to a safe and
nourishing environment. It is our privilege to assure that every child
experiences these basic rights.

                                                                                1
Program:
Our programs vary to fit the needs of you and your child. We provide high-
quality full or part-time childcare for children 18 months through 13 years.
Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are prepared in accordance with
federal food guidelines and are served to the children "family style” or buffet
for the school-age students. Activities are scheduled, but we often follow child
initiated activities to encourage curiosity and the wonderment of life.

Methods Used in the Program:
Our program has adopted The National Association for the Education of
Young Children’s practices, in which activities are designed to be
developmentally appropriate as well as chronologically age appropriate. This
practice insures that children with disabilities are not wrongly placed in
settings designed for younger children. We offer a natural environment which
includes indoor interest areas plus outdoor space that offers multiple
opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn. Interest areas also
provide a setting for children to learn academic content and apply needed
skills.
Evaluation and Assessment Conducted in the Program:
The curriculum used at Nared’s PeeWee Palace is based on the philosophy
of Creative Curriculum. We feel this program is very effective in managing
ongoing assessments, enabling us to follow state early learning standards
and guidelines. It also gives the parent an opportunity to be involved in their
child’s progress. This program is designed for all children birth to age 5 and
is used in all types of early childhood settings, including inclusive
 and early intervention programs.

                                                                                  2
Individual Planning
Individual Educational Program goals are very important to us just as getting
to know families, welcoming and communicating with them regularly,
partnering for children's learning, and responding to challenging situations.

The staff at Nared’s PeeWee Palace works hard to assure that all Individual
Educational Program goals and the needs of every child are met. You will find
our program is open to working with families as well as any other professional
associated with the education of your child.

Technology:
It is difficult to anticipate what special equipment or modifications a program
might need until a particular child is enrolled. It is our policy to adapt all
educational opportunities as well as the environment for the growth of all
children in our program. Children with special needs will find that our
environment includes toys and play materials that have been adjusted for their
special need.

Confidentiality:
To protect each family’s confidentiality, Nared’s PeeWee Palace will not share
information about a child or a child’s family with anyone who is not authorized
to receive this information.
Child Care Services:
Nared’s PeeWee Palace will provide child care services between the hours of
6:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Nared’s PeeWee Palace II is open from 6:15 AM – 5:30 PM.

                                                                                  3
Child Release:
Children will only be released to persons on the enrollment form. If anyone
other than the child’s parent or someone who is listed on the enrollment form
is to pick up a child(ren), I need to be notified in writing or by a telephone call
in advance. The person picking the child(ren) up must show a picture ID. No
child will be released to anyone that appears too be intoxicated or under the
influence of drugs. Steps will be taken to prevent the person from leaving with
the child, including offering to call a cab or another contact person. While I
cannot legally withhold a child from the legal guardian, I will not hesitate to
call the local authorities, if I feel the child is in danger.

Preschool Program:
Mission:
Our mission is to nurture and enrich the lives of children during the critical
years of early learning and create the foundation for our students to flourish
throughout their lives.

Family Involvement:
Home and school are a young child's two most important worlds. Children
must bridge these two worlds every day. If home and school are connected in
positive and respectful ways, children feel secure. However, children suffer
when the two worlds are at odds because of apathy, lack of understanding, or
an inability to work together. Teachers can build a true partnership when they
truly value the family's role in a child's education and recognize how much
they can accomplish by working with families.

                                                                                 9
Goals for Our Children
Our goal for is to prepare your child for success in school and life. We see
this as more than “ABC’s” and “1, 2, 3,’s”. Though those things are very
important, we believe your child will be more successful if we help them to
develop their:

 Independence, identity, self-esteem, and confidence

   Self-control and responsibility

 Communication of wants, needs and feelings

   Self-help skills

 Sharing with and caring about others

   Problem-solving skills

   Creativity

 Respect and enjoyment of nature

Our program also realizes the importance of being flexible and meeting the
individual developmental needs of all children. We provide different types of
support which may include professional development of child care staff,
consultation on child care programming or inclusion, resource and referral
information.

The Adapted Program
We use the outcome of our evaluation and observations to adjust each child’s
individual education program.

                                                                                10

PLAY is the major component of their day. Enough time, materials and
space will be provided for children to actively explore the world around them.

manipulative and housekeeping equipment. Children, including the toddlers,
will go outdoors daily when weather permits.
