February Fundraisers – The Spring Candy Sale and The Swim-a-Lap
Two Parent Club fundraisers are happening in February. The Spring Chocolate Sale (See’s candy)
is our largest fundraiser of the year, and ordering will take place between February 8th and February
23rd. Spirit Espresso will also be supporting the Parent Club by donating $1.00 for every drink sold
on Saturday, February 6th.
The Parent Club has been incredibly generous with their support the past two years. They have
funded several NAE and Fairmount activities/materials purchases including:
Teacher support for classroom materials
Library Books and Curriculum (Optimize Reading Program for K)
Volunteer Art Program
Copier and Laminating support
Mileage Club (Rewards and new bark dust for the track)
5th Grade Graduation and 5th Grade Bike Safety
Pumpkin Patch and other assorted field trips
Assemblies including the Oregon Coast Aquarium Sharks Assembly
OMSI Science Festival and OMSI Labs (Coming this spring!)
These items add up to over $7000! This is especially significant given the fact that our building
budget was reduced by 20% this year!
The Albany Public Schools Foundation Swim-a-lap is also coming in February. Students collect
pledges and swim laps to raise funds for the Foundation. Half of the proceeds directly benefit the
school and the remaining funds are used for school grants and scholarships. We’ve received four
Foundation grants the past two years including two for the Volunteer Art Program ($500 each), one
for Mileage Club ($500) and also a $600 library grant to purchase new books for Fairmount!
We realize that parents are inundated with requests for donations and support. We just want to
express our appreciation for the strong support you’ve demonstrated. As you can see, your
financial contributions are being put to good use!!
