									                              Chapter Advisor Provincials Commitment Form

This form outlines the responsibilities and commitments of a DECA Ontario Chapter Advisor at the annual
Provincial Competition. All advisors must thoroughly read and accept the following:

Prior to the competition, Advisors will:
    1. Attend the Provincials training session in February;
    2. Update their cellular numbers online; and,
    3. Check in the Vide office to confirm their room number if staying overnight.

During the competition, Advisors will:
   1. Complete their supervision/duty as assigned;
   2. Conduct themselves in a professional manner to maintain the integrity of the competition;
   3. Ensure all plaques/medals are collected during the awards ceremonies by the winner or another
        representative from the chapter (uncollected plaques/medals will not be kept or mailed by DECA); and,
   4. Ensure all student members are dressed according to the DECA Ontario Dress Code. Students not
        adhering to this code will not be allowed on stage.

After the competition, Advisors will:
    1. Collect competition evaluations (Oral Scantrons) from the Wentworth Room (evaluations not picked up
        will not be kept or mailed by DECA); and,
    2. Attend the post-Provincials meeting in the Civic Ballroom (one representative)
    3. Only be able to attend the post-Provincials meeting (students not allowed)

If an Advisor does not fulfill the above expectations the Board of Directors or Advisory Council has the right to
impose consequences, including but not limited to, the following:
      Delegates from the offending chapter will not be eligible to advance to ICDC that year.
      LDA participation for the offending chapter will be revoked for that year.
      Offending chapter may face a one year suspension from participation in all DECA events
      A letter to the Advisor, copied to the school Principal, will follow from DECA Ontario
      If a chapter is in arrears, the outstanding balance will be collected and removed from ICDC subsidy

I have read this document and understand that by acting as an Advisor to my school’s chapter, I am making a
commitment to my school and the DECA organization. I am willing to fulfill the responsibilities as outlined in this
document and understand the consequences of not doing so.
