Similarly, Beijing has high- rises throughout the city, stretching for several kilometres. Since Beijing is the capital city in China embassies also dot the city core, playing host to visitors from around the world. Therfore, both cities entertain and house masses from many different locales, making Vancouver and Beijing central points of destination for travelling or living. Cause and Effect: Athletes have become "sports icons" which every child wants to become. The ambition to win and become famous is fostered from a very young age as Nike professes, "You do not win silver you lose gold." The need to win at all costs builds the ambition to achieve or garner the adulation of sports fans. The fans then prop up our fear of losing, delving the athlete into a cyclical path of needing to win and fearing of loss. Ultimately, this fear and ambition cause athletes to take performance enhancing drugs. Definition: Courage is the quality of being brave when facing something that is dangerous. For example, a soldier who goes into battle shows courage. When soldiers go into battle, soldiers face the distinct possibility of death. Bullets and grenades pose danger for combatants because both weapons kill or maim. Soldiers know that with every step in hostile territories, enemies are shooting bullets and throwing grenades with the sole aim of killing. In war, soldiers and enemies alike don’t shoot bullets to bruise or simply hurt their counterparts. Therefore, despite knowing that death is a possible outcome, soldiers show courage despite facing death in battle.
