Law 337 Seminar on Trade and Investment in the PRC
This seminar is designed to provide students an opportunity to explore the law and
practice of trade and investment in the People’s Republic of China. The seminar includes
the study of China’s foreign trade laws and practice, China’s foreign investment
regulatory regime and vehicles (including Equity Joint Venture, Cooperative Joint
Venture, and Wholly Foreign–Owned Enterprises), priority investment areas (including
Special Economic Zones), real estate, banking, technology transfer, intellectual property
protection, foreign exchange, taxation of both foreigners and foreign companies in China,
dispute resolution and the interplay between China’s foreign trade and investment regime
and domestic legal system.
Term Paper 70%, Class Participation 30%.
