Minimum Requirements
Food Service experience preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with others, accept direction, and assume responsibility.
Serv-Safe Certification or the ability to obtain Serv-Safe Certification within one (1) year of employment.
Ability to keep Serv-Safe Certification current throughout employment.
Willingness to be assigned at any site within the base operation.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
TB inoculation certification on file with WCPS.
Ability to meet physical requirements:
- Prolonged sitting and/or standing;
- Physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials;
- Stooping, bending and reaching; and
- Tolerate noisy and crowded environment and food odors.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or ability to learn quantity cooking.
Ability to communicate effectively with members of the food service staff, school staff, students, and the
community.
Ability to react to change productively and complete tasks as assigned.
Experience in operation of kitchen equipment as required.
Evidence of enthusiasm and pride in your work.

Understand and support the philosophy and mission of the WCPS Food & Nutrition Services department.
Training and experience working with population relevant to the assigned school.
Role Responsibilities
Prepare and/or assist in preparing food as assigned.
Assist with service of food to students and adults as assigned using portion control standards as
specified.
Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain food quality and ensure food safety.
Keep serving area clean at all times.
Complete clean-up duties and dishwashing duties as assigned.
Operate kitchen equipment in a proper manner to assure safety as well as to avoid damage to the
equipment.
Report food supply needs and problems to the Site Supervisor.
Operate computerized cash register system.
Adhere to all health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Blood borne Pathogens Exposure
Control Plan.
Assist with any phase of the kitchen operations.
Attend classes, in-services, and workshops as offered.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public
Schools.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor, Food Service Manager or FNS Administration.
