Designated Authorities
How to Program Key Pads
The Locksmith will install the key pad and ask you for your Designated Authority user
code. The User code can be 4-6 digits and should be something that you will
remember. Your user number will be 03.
Start by creating an excel spreadsheet with the names of the individuals that need
access to the room, their status, and expiry date (if applicable). Each individual in
your list needs to be assigned a user number starting at 04 to 97 (meaning you could
potentially program up to 93 users) Example is below:
Last Name First Room Status Expiry User User
Name Number Date Number Code
Authority Designated DNA B1 Employee n/a 03 1111
Brown Sue DNA B1 Employee n/a 04 1234
Doe John DNA B1 Grad April 05 2222
Student 1/10
You can either obtain a user code from the individual you are programming in or
assign one to them.
The User code can be 4-6 digits.
Once you have the information above go to the location of the key pad and complete
the following steps to enter a “new” user:
Type in 99#
Enter your Designated Authority User Code followed by * (Yellow LED begins
to blink slowly)
Then enter 50# 1# User Number (04-97) followed by # User code * (Yellow
LED blinks quickly)
Enter User code* again (Yellow LED blinks slowly) enter * (Yellow LED goes
out)
Example below:
For Sue Brown enter:
99#
1111*
50 # 1# 04# 1234*
1234**
Please note if an individual no longer needs access to the room please contact
the Locksmith at locksmith@trentu.ca to have the individual deleted.
