Position Title:        Renewal Clerk
Department:            Leased Housing Department
Grade:                 4 (non exempt)
Salary Range:          $18,000 - $20.935 - $26,000

Perform various clerical duties such as: Maintaining client files in accordance with
agency methods and procedure; prepare renewal packages; receiving and reviewing
recertification documentation for tenants and other duties pertaining to the renewal
function.

Work from client master lists, manual and computerized files, inspection reports, various
standard forms, written and verbal instructions, and established policies and procedures.

Initiation of client renewal process: obtain lists of client due for renewal four months
prior to lease expiration date. Compile all required tenant/landlord forms necessary to the
renewal package. Prepare and mail packages at appropriate time.

Maintain the master list and monitor the return of required documentation. Record the
receipt of completed documentation and forms on the file checklist.

Correspond via telephone and mail with clients and landlords regarding missing or
incomplete documentation.

Prepare various standard format material including cover letters, fraud letters, verification
letters, and any other correspondence as required by agency policy.

Provide assistance to clients. Respond to inquiries via telephone or in person regarding
the renewal process. Explain procedures and assist if necessary in the completion of
forms. Explain program requirements.

Perform other duties as requested by the Renewal Supervisor.
