Greg Giesen has been involved in management development and training since 1980. With a masters degree in personnel services and counseling from Miami University, Greg spent nine years counseling, training and implementing programs as the director of student activities on the campuses of Washington University and the University of Redlands. Following his higher education experience, Greg joined the world headquarters' staff of Toastmasters International, where he managed the membership and club development department. Greg came out to Colorado in 1990 to join the management development department at Mountain States Employers Council. During his tenure at MSEC, Greg designed and presented over twenty different training courses to member companies throughout the United States. In 1998, Greg created Greg Giesen & Associates, Inc., a leadership and management development organization out of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Program Overview What is Coaching? Coaching is a powerful alliance designed to forward and enhance the process of human learning, effectiveness and fulfillment. Coaching is a professional client-centered relationship. The coaching relationship is unique in that the client is perceived by both the coach and the client to be healthy, powerful and an achiever of his or her goals. Unlike therapy or consultation, coaching understands the client to have the innate expertise and willingness needed to achieve success. Thus, the coach’s role is to forward the client’s action toward his or her goal and provide ongoing clarity, challenge, focus and support during this process. Management Coaching: Management coaching provides the client an opportunity to enhance his or her management skills through a process of assessment (identifying where they are now), projection (deciding where they need to be), and anticipation (action planning on how they will get there). The Coaching Process: Three Programs to Choose from. Three different coaching programs are outlined below for your consideration. Each program can focus on either personal/life coaching areas or management coaching (coaching designed to help you become a better manager in the workplace). Option 1: Just Enough Coaching Option 1 consists of: • Three, 30-minute coaching sessions with Greg Giesen (other Life Coaches are available as well). • The three coaching sessions can occur either on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. • Sessions are by phone or via Skype on the internet. Skype is the preferred method (particularly with a webcam). For more information on Skype, go to www.skype.com. • The three sessions would begin with an Introductory session, complete with self-assessment pre-work. • Upon completion of the third session, a second round of three-sessions can be scheduled if desired. • Expect a homework assignment after each session. • Cost of the Just Enough coaching program is $450.00.
