This document is a text description of the control panel layout for the product listed below. The complete operating instructions are available online in PDF format from the Customer Support section of www.panasonic.com Model Number KX-TG5200/5202 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Phone system Handset With the handset buttons facing you, there is a narrow 2.8 inch long protrusion on the top right. This is the antenna. At the top of the antenna is the Ringer/Message Alert indicator. Just below the top of the handset is an oval depression. This is the earpiece. The smooth surface below the earpiece is the display; its upper edge is defined by a small ridge in the center of the handset below the earpiece. Below the display are three soft keys. Each soft key is used to select the function shown on the display directly above it. In the standby mode, “CID” is displayed above the left soft key to indicate that it serves as the Caller ID information review key. “PLAY” is displayed above the middle soft key to indicate that it serves as the message playback key. The Phone Book icon is displayed above the right soft key to indicate that it serves as the Phone Book select key. In the center below these keys is the Navigator Key. The surface of this key is slightly concave. This key is used to scroll up and down through the function menu. It is also used to control the volume during a call. To the left of the Navigator Key is an oval button. This is the TALK button. To the right of the Navigator Key, is another oval button. This is the OFF button. To the lower right of the Navigator Key is the small oval MENU button. To the lower left of the Navigator Key, is the small oval Speakerphone button. Below these buttons is the keypad laid out in the conventional telephone arrangement with a “nib” on the 5 button. Below the keypad are three buttons in a horizontal line. The left one is the HOLD button. It is also serves as the INTERCOM button. The middle button is the FLASH button, which also serves as the CALL WAIT button. The right button is the REDIAL button. In the center of the lowest part of the handset is a small indentation. This is the microphone. The two metal ridges on the bottom surface of the handset are the charge contacts. Along the sides of the handsets are two indentations that secure the belt clip. The belt clip can be 2012/09/12 6:37 AM KX-TG5200 connected to the handset by snapping the arms of the belt clip into these two indentations. Further down the left side of the handset is the headset jack. It is parallel to the TALK button. The headset jack cover can be opened from top to bottom, and is not removable. The textured area in the center of the back panel of the handset is the handset speaker. Just below the speaker is the battery compartment. Its upper edge is parallel to the TALK button and the OFF button, and it has a notched area on it. Base Unit With the base unit facing you, the antennas are on the both sides of the base unit and it should be positioned pointing upward. The handset’s charging cradle is in the left corner of the base unit. The two metal ridges on the bottom of the cradle are the charge contacts. The handset is placed in the cradle with the handset’s buttons facing you. The unit will beep when the handset is properly placed in the cradle for charging. The rounded triangle shaped button in the bottom right corner of the base unit is the LOCATOR [ALL] button. To the left of the LOCATOR [ALL] button is a row of 3 indicators. These are, from left to right, the CHARGE indicator, IN USE indicator, and VM (Voice Mail) indicator. Above the row of indicators is a row of 4 LOCATOR/INTERCOM buttons. These are, from lower left to upper right, the LOCATOR/INTERCOM button [1], LOCATOR/INTERCOM button [2], LOCATOR/INTERCOM button [3] and LOCATOR/INTERCOM button [4]. 2012/09/12 6:37 AM KX-TG5200
