Supply Chain Finance Researcher
MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program (Reference 1309)
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Zaragoza Logistics Center
(ZLC) in Spain have partnered to create an international program for education and
research in logistics & supply chain management. The ZLC now has an opening for a
Researcher to join the vibrant and growing research team in the MIT-Zaragoza
International Logistics Program.
The initial focus is developing of provisionally named “Centre of Supply Chain
Finance”. This center should encourage research, teaching, outreach and consulting at
the interface of supply chain/operations, finance and risk. It is expected that this
center is considered a premier center in Europe within 2 years and the World within 4
years. The candidate should develop concept, budget, marketing, website and
everything else to make this center operational and financed by summer 2010.
The candidate helps to prepare teaching material; the guiding vision is to uncover
concepts at the interface of supply chain, finance and risk and prepares and organizes
an annual conference that engage academics and practitioners in a dialogue that leads
to academically useful output.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to seek for external funding and sponsors
as well as attract and engage in consulting. The candidate should develop an
infrastructure that encourages research and potentially participate in research plus
write managerial and press pieces to support the center.
Applicants should have a master in supply chain and/or finance/risk, previous
experience in research and consulting in the area of supply chain finance. The
candidate must have writing skills in order to prepare required content, selling skills
to be able to attract funds. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently
and deliver results to high expectations. Spanish language skills are not required.
