What does this mean?

      The original hebrew means…..
           “To unlawfully kill”
         The command prohibits
       the intentional killing of an
          innocent human being
What is the scope of this command?

           Morning
            after Murder
             Pill
                              Abortion
    A celebration of life!
• Life a gift from God….
“ The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed
into his nostrils and the man became a living being” (Gen2:7)

• “For in Him we live and move and have
     our being” (Acts 17:28)

• When it comes to matters of life and death we
    have no authority!
    Deadly Actions!

• War related deaths in the 20th Century totalled over 500 million

• Since the legalisation of Abortion in the UK in 1967 there have
been an estimated 4 million terminations…. that is about 500 a day!

• About 1% of abortions are due to rape…. 1% due to foetal handicap
or risk to the mother, that makes 98% unwanted or inconvenient

• DANGER….“Whatever happened to the human race?”
…An ethical line in the sand that moves over time...
Deadly Actions!

“The beginnings at first were merely a subtle shift
in emphasis in the basis attitudes of the physicians.
It started with the attitude, based in the euthanasia
movement, that there is such a thing as a life not
worthy to be lived. This attitude in its early stages
concerned itself merely with the chronically sick.
Gradually the sphere was enlarged to include the
      socially unproductive, the ideologically unwanted,
            the racially unwanted and finally……
                       all non-Germans”
Nuremberg Tribunal evidence from an Auschwitz psychiatrist
  Deadly Actions..what can we do?

• We need to sense God’s heart and take note that we are in a
disposable society who will even dispose of their own

• We need to receive His love, forgiveness and release from pain
   guilt or sadness

• We need to be PRO-LIFE…To put the same value
on human life that God does. We are all made in His
image and have value and dignity
Deadly emotions !

   The roots of murder!
“ You have heard that it was said “Do not murder
but I tell you that anyone who is angry with
his brother will be subject to judgement”
                     Matt 5:21-22
 Deadly emotions !
The roots of murder!
• Anger if unchecked is murderous
• God not only wants to stop murder he
wants to stop the seeds of murder
• Right anger vs wrong anger?
  Deadly Actions..what are we like?

• The manic…the pressure cooker waiting to explode

• The mute…they don’t blow up they clam up and bottle it up

• The martyr..they don’t get angry because its
  always their fault

• The manipulator…they don’t get angry…..
  ...they get even!
  Dealing with Anger!

“Anyone can be angry…. that is easy!
But to be angry with the right person,
to the right degree, at the right time,
for the right purpose…that is not easy”
 Aristotle

“ In your anger sin not!” Eph 4:26
Dealing with Anger what can we do?!

        Count to Ten!
    Recognise our weakness
       and need of God
“Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry,
for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous
           life that God desires” James:1:20
You shall not murder ...
  • We must be against deadly actions, we must be
in favour of life and play our part
    in being pro-life!

  • We must be against deadly emotions, we must
be slow to anger and in favour of love,
    forgiveness and patience

  • WE NEED GOD’S HELP,MERCY AND LOVE
