Laptop Loan Program
The Office of Research Security sponsors a laptop computer loan program for all
faculty and staff personnel performing foreign travel on behalf of MSU. The goal
of the program is to offer “clean” laptop computers that are equipped with basic
operating software, i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat and
Internet Access, and are protected by a full disk encryption program. Any
additional software requirements are the responsibility of the borrower to install.
All units are erased upon return and the programming reinstalled. Both PC and
MAC based units are available.
There are certain countries where you will not be able to take one of the laptop
