							                                DFAS DEPARTMENT 97 REPORTING MANUAL, FY 2012


                                                        FORWARD



This manual is released under the authority of DoD 7000.14 R, DoD Financial Management Regulation. It has been
developed to provide departmental reporting requirements for Treasury Department Index (TDI) 97 appropriations,
descriptions of data elements, and codes to be used in the financial reports for FY 2012 and prior years. This manual
applies only to agency level and DFAS center accounting offices, when reporting to the Indianapolis Center. It does not
replace fiscal codes used for internal management purposes by DoD Components and Agencies. DoD Components will
continue to use their current accounting classification coding structure unless otherwise specified.

This manual replaces the Budget and Fiscal Coding Manual of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, (DoD Instruction
7110.3) published by Washington Headquarters Service previously used by DoD Components and Agencies.

This manual is effective immediately and is mandatory for all DoD Components that report to the Indianapolis Center.
