Duties & Responsibilities: Under limited supervision of the Budget Director, manages
centralized division-level budget services or centralized state-level strategic planning
services for the Department of Labor. Directly and through subordinate managers,
supervises professional staff in budget development and management, or in strategic
planning for assigned division(s). Works closely with division and department
management in developing goals, objectives, and priorities for the division. Manages
budget development and expenditure control activities and performs other related
functions for the division. Provides ongoing technical assistance on fiscal issues and/or
strategic planning issues to division management and personnel. Ensures that division
budget/planning activities support the mission and priorities of the department.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a bachelor's degree with a major in a business
curriculum, which included the successful completion of the introductory accounting
sequence and the intermediate accounting sequence.
NOTE: The introductory accounting sequence is normally completed in ten (10) quarter
or six (6) semester hours; the intermediate accounting sequence is normally completed in
fifteen (15) quarter hours or six (6) semester hours;
five years of professional budgetary experience of increasing responsibility and
complexity, of which three (3) years must have been directly supervising multi-level
professional budgetary staff, i.e., budget supervisors and analysts.
NOTE: Graduate coursework in accounting may substitute for experience on a year-for-
year basis for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

who meet one or more of the following:
* Seven (7) years experience in state budgetary accounting
* Five (5) years experience budgeting multiple government fund sources
* Experience in budgeting for federal grant programs
* Experience and knowledge of State Legislative processes
* Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration
