Job Title: Marketing and Media Relations Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Corporate Sales
FLSA Status: Salaried – Full Time

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an upcoming excellent opportunity for a Marketing and Media
Relations Manager at the American Bank Center to manage and directly oversee media relations for the American Bank Center
facility and assists the Director of Marketing & Corporate Sales with advertising campaigns.


 Write and distribute press releases for all events and other building activities.
 Coordinate and execute all press conferences on the facility.
 Update on a daily basis.
 Coordinate speaking points for various department heads and events.
 Development of media buys.
 Create and edit content for various publications.
 Daily monitoring of local and national news related to SMG and American Bank Center.
 Monitoring the general guest service email account and responding back with a proper response.
 Maintain media contact lists
 Create presentation materials for department heads.
 Coordinate and execute media events and interviews for upcoming shows.
 Assist with creation and distribution event related materials.
 Create newsletters and e-mail blast, plus other internet-related activities, such as surveys.
 Assist with researching the marketability of possible events.
 Coordinate media interaction: pre-show interviews, day-of-show escort, etc.
 Perform common managerial functions; planning, organizing, communicating, supervising, controlling and other general
  managerial functions.
 Assist with general administrative and various sales duties as necessary.
 Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors’ degree preferred in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field preferred. A minimum of 3 years in
Public Relations in the entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combinations of education and experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Exceptional creative writing skills, excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills, ability to multi-task under
extreme deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment, maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees,
exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work
flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed.
