							Job Title:                                                                                             SCHOOL DIRECTOR

Summary:
The Director performs a variety of duties with the ultimate goal of providing education, training, supervision and support to the
children and staff at the school assigned.
Assigned Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Recruit, select, train and orientate qualified staff within State Guidelines. Supervise and evaluate all school personnel.
Schedule substitute personnel in the event of absences. Acquire resource persons, schedule field trips, and plan for special
events. Create a positive working environment through praise, recognition, and morale boosters. Attempt to resolve employee
conflicts at the school level while communicating issues to the District Manager so that they are not caught off-guard.
Maintain professional rapport with staff and parents. This includes knowing each parent and child by name, child’s assigned
classroom and who is legally authorized to pick up each child.

Plan work schedules for all staff members and maintain compliance with licensing standards. Merge classrooms to ensure
reduced payroll while maintaining state ratios. Drive the van/bus when necessary and run errands as needed. Fill-in in the
classroom in the event of a teachers’ absence. Cook and clean the kitchen and bathrooms, in the absence of the cook. Ensure
there is a qualified and designated individual upon your absence that is responsible for the school.

Enroll new children to maintain the school’s licensed capacity. Introduce all new parents to the school’s policies and
procedures through guided tours and effective telephone conversations. Maintain an awareness of child abuse, neglect, and
child welfare and licensing regulations pertaining to the care of young children.

Maintain a physical environment that conforms to licensing standards of safety and cleanliness, and that is conducive to
optimal growth and development of all the children who attend the school. Develop and execute on-going educational
curriculum and activities that contribute to the care, growth and development of the children who attend the school. Maintain a
clean, neat and organized appearance of the lobby and to coordinate lobby decorations using appropriate children’s artwork and
seasonal themes.

Display a thorough working knowledge of the computer, including all aspects of Pro Care and P&L responsibilities. Perform
and/or oversee all administrative tasks are performed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis including but not limited
to: collection and posting of fees and receipts, make deposits on a timely manner, complete payroll and submitting on time
while monitoring overtime closely, maintain all school records (including staff and children files), complete accounts
receivable reports and collect of past due accounts, submit Quarterly Commitment to Excellence reports to District Manager,
submit weekly P&L reports accurately and on time, complete and submit all USDA reports accurately and on time, completing
all special program reports and billings in a timely manner. Maintain files in an organized, up-to date manner.

Monitor and maintain an updated inventory, of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to carry out the program of
activities within your yearly budget. Order food, on your given schedule, in sufficient quantities to feed the children who
attend the school. Meet USDA and budgetary guidelines.

Implement and continually monitor to ensure an effective marketing strategy for the school. Develop community partnerships.
Maintain a positive partnership with all regulatory state and local agencies. Seek out grants and other collaborations as they
become available. Commit to ongoing collaborations and special programs within your school.

Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis and to keep staff informed and updated. Share information with other staff members
for the benefit of the program and to work with other staff members in a cooperative manner. Also share information with
other schools that could benefit CNI.

Actively pursue opportunities for professional development (increasing knowledge, training, and skills in the field) by
attending and participating in staff development training programs. Join local and national organizations in the field of child
care.

Open/close and safely lock/unlock the school, having inspected all classrooms for cleanliness and morning “set-up” and follow
all opening and closing procedures. Be aware of all persons in the school at all times. Stay until the last child is picked up by
an authorized person. In the event of a late pick up, charge the appropriate fees. Ensure that no child has been left unattended.

Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications and comply with all CNI Policies and Procedures at all times.
