ROLE: Product Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Purchasing

To build an exciting and aspirational product range for our customer which delivers against Company Sales
and Margin targets.
Develop a strategy and range plan for your product area, which delivers Sales and Margin in line with
targets, with an aim to exceed.
Develop collaborative relationships with key suppliers ensuring we have common goal. Regularly review
our performance against them and continually look for opportunities to exceed them.
Manage your stock levels within the Company budget and beware of the impact on Company cash
Ensure that, through suppliers, you are delivering the appropriate level of training throughout the business
to support your strategy.
Maintain a high level of personal knowledge of your product range, making yourself the Company expert.
Ensure that Dawsons are first to market with new product launches and Supplier based promotions
Work with your senior colleagues to ensure that your product range is represented to its full potential
across all sales channels (Online, Education and In Store)
Visit Stores on a regular basis for a detailed performance review with the Store Manager and develop
ways of supporting the retail team to grow sales.
Accurate, up to date and appropriate management of Store stock profiles for your product area.
Work with your senior colleagues to identify the customer profile for your product range and target the
most appropriate activity to engage with this group.
Manage the Company cost price file for Suppliers ensuring it is up to date and accurate and correct any
issues as a matter of urgency.
Work in close co-operation with all areas of the business, including Marketing, Retail, Education, Web,
Finance and the Warehouse.
Continually look for growth opportunities from both brands and own label imports and build these into
your range strategy.
Manage the scheduling and forecasting of import containers.
Provide daily support to Retail, Web and Education colleagues.
The generation of Store picks, IBT’s and special orders.
