Polybush design and manufacture vehicle suspension bushes working closely with our
Commercial, Military and Motorsport clients.
Our design engineer works closely with our customers from design stage thorough to fitment
to ensure our bushes provide the optimum performance that you would expect from
Polybush is wholly owned by Bonaprene Products a family business employing 45 people at
our site on the Wrexham Industrial Estate. Polybush is a team of 6 people working in a new,
purpose built open plan office.
Polybush is responsible for the sales and marketing of polyurethane vehicle suspension
bushes manufactured by Bonaprene Products.
Polybush sells into the 4x4, bus, truck, military, classic and modern day car after sales
market. Though we do sell to the general public who respond to our advertising all our direct
sales effort is business to business.
Objective: to ensure that new product development meets the needs of Polybush customers
and provides Polybush with additional products that can provide on-going future sales.
The Design Engineer will take responsibility for development of new products and provide
both inward and outward facing engineering support for both established and new products.
The role includes the following aspects:
To develop new concepts in accordance with customer requirements.
To prepare new product quotations which are both cost effective and commercially
viable and pass to the Sales Manager for final approval.
To understand the commercial significance of projects and the importance of
controlling costs, meeting project timing and customer project approval.
To produce high quality designs of products, sub-components and moulds, which
have been well considered for efficient manufacture.
To generate CAD drawings either from hand sketches or from existing product.
To continually look to develop efficient methods of collating project information
including drawings, internal requisitions, original parts, etc.
Assess and solve arising technical problems.
Liaise closely with production to ensure the correct and timely manufacture of
products from initial concept through to final stock levels being met.
Ensure you have a current, in depth understanding of our manufacturing process and
products manufactured by Polybush.
Visit Customers to ensure correct fitting of new products and follow the product
through the first year of its life and write reports on findings for both internal and
To write technical reports to help the sales team promote the product both internally
Update website, face book and twitter on a regular basis with new product and market
To purchase component parts where required.
We have no demarcation and all employees are expected to carry out any task or role
that they are both safe and capable of doing.
Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline.
Knowledge of suspension systems and components.
A sound understanding of manufacturing techniques.
The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
A sound understanding of CAD (ideally Solid Works or similar).
Possess excellent analytical skills.
Possess excellent communication skills.
The ability to write Technical information sheets.
