Cyberport’s Digital Media Centre expands capabilities with ARRILASER For Immediate Release Content creators access to world’s highest performance film recorder at Asia’s digital media hub Hong Kong (23 May 2005) –The Digital Media Centre (DMC) at Cyberport, Hong Kong’s IT flagship announced today that the first ARRILASER has become available for shared use by the film and digital entertainment industries in Hong Kong since 10 May 2005. The ARRILASER, the first cine film recorder to use three solid state lasers as light source, outputs in a speed of 1:1.85 at 1.7 sec per frame in 2K resolution. It offers outstanding laser-based 35mm film recording capability to facilitate images and content in various format and types of media to be converted to 35mm celluloid film output. Ms. Subrina Chow, Assistant Government Chief Information Officer of the Office of Government Chief Information Officer, said, “The mission of the Digital Media Centre is to support the development of the local digital entertainment industry, providing state-of-the-art facilities and equipment at affordable costs to local companies, especially our SMEs. With the addition of ARRILASER, the Digital Media Centre will enable local digital effect and post-production companies to provide a complete Digital Intermediate service right here in Hong Kong. We believe the launch of this service will significantly enhance our competitiveness as a film and digital entertainment production centre in Asia.” DMC is committed to living up to the high expectations as Asia’s hub for Digital Content Creation.
