The Digital Connectors Program @ Mi Casa Resource Center
Digital Connectors is a program that teaches youth in-depth digital literacy skills and gives
them the opportunity to share their technology knowledge with members of their community.
It's an innovative effort to involve urban youth in overcoming the digital divide, or the gap
between people with access to computers and information technology and those without.
Twenty young people are currently participating in Digital Connectors, acquiring in-depth
computer literacy skills that they will share with the broader community during free, computer
The Volunteer’s Role:
The Digital Connectors program is currently seeking Instructor’s Assistant volunteers.
A volunteer will assist the instructor in setting up and taking down the classroom materials.
He/she will enthusiastically participate in all activities and present themselves as another
adult member that the students feel comfortable approaching. If comfortable doing so, the
volunteer will also help the instructor create leadership building activities and organizing field
trips related to the curriculum. Familiarity with MS Office and experience with advanced
media editing software is strongly encouraged. Previous experience working with youth is
A volunteer would ideally be able to commit to attend the class at least once a week. The
class schedule for the year is as follows:
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 5:00 to 7:15 PM
Location: 360 Acoma St., Denver, CO 80223
1st Saturday of Every Month: 4 hours in the morning, times to be determined by class.
