							Digital Autobiography Directions

Create a Power Point presentation using your original poetry and/or prose and the images
you brought from home. Some of your work may be saved in the P drive AutoBioSanders
folder. The images are saved in the P drive in a folder called AlaPt3. Find your name.

For the Power Point presentation:
Use a blank presentation.
Use custom backgrounds with blank slides.
Use regular text or Word Art for titles.
Have the text of the poem in a text box along with one of your pictures on each slide.

Make as many slides as you can with your poetry. The prose may be too long to be
practical.


For the pictures we have brought from home and scanned:
The pictures are saved in the AlaPt3 folder in the U drive. They were saved as pic1, pic2,
pic3, etc. After you edit the pictures, save them with a new name to your U drive
PowerPoint folder.
We will be using a program called PaintShop Pro to crop, edit, modify, etc. the pictures.
It is a complex program that we will only use to do some basic things. Please do not try
to use any of the tools I do not teach you about. I cannot help you if you do!!

To use PaintShop Pro Shareware version:
Go to: Start Programs Paint Shop Pro Paint Shop Pro Shareware 3.12 32 bit
Click Ok.
Open one of your pictures from the P drive AlaPt3 folder.
We will use Resize from the Image menu. Click Ok to accept the size recommended.
Make sure the Select Toolbox is displayed. If it isn’t, go to View and put a check by it.
Use the dotted rectangle to crop the desired part of the picture. Select the part of the
picture. Edit, Cut. Open a new document, click OK to accept the size, Edit, Paste.
Resave with a new name in your U drive PowerPoint folder.

Use the images in the AutoShapes designs with the pictures as the fill effect.

Have fun! Be creative!! I can’t wait to see the final product. Save it as DigitalBio in
your U drive.
