Your Link To Nutrition & Health
We are inviting your organization to exhibit or for sponsorship at the 2007 annual
meeting of the Delaware Dietetic Association. This year, we were fortunate to
secure several nationally known speakers, and we look forward to a large turnout
of participants. A few of our speakers include:
William Weintraub, M.D., FACC, an internationally distinguished cardiologist
and expert in outcomes research. Dr. Weintraub has played many key roles and
made numerous contributions in cardiology, outcomes research and medical
informatics. In addition to his dedicated work as an attending cardiologist and
teacher in Atlanta for 19 years, he helped found the Emory Center for Outcomes
Research and served as its director until he came to Christiana Care Health
System in August to serve as Chief of Cardiology and director of the Christiana
Center for Outcomes Research.
Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, LD/N, has published a multitude of research on wound
healing and nutrition intervention and has authored chapters in the Medical-Legal
Aspects of Long-term Care and the Clinical Guide to Wound Care. Dr. Collins
has presented over 200 medical lectures and symposia since 1990.
Sylvia Escott-Stump, M.A., R.D., L.D.N., past ADA Speaker of the House of
Delegates, presenting the Nutrition Care Process and case study applications.
One of the main items on the 2006 Fall House of Delegates agenda was the
Nutrition Care Process and implementation at the state levels. The American
Dietetic Association recommends that this process be applied to charting as soon
as possible in all nutrition care settings. Our state has been charged by the
association to offer training sessions at our annual state conference.
Jeffrey E. Harris, DrPH, M.P.H., C.N.S., R.D., West Chester University's
Director of the Public Health Nutrition Program, presenting "Motivational
Interviewing: Enhancing Motivation for Change". In this session you will learn a
method for enhancing internal motivation for change and motivational
interviewing. Also, a number of motivational strategies will be highlighted to
promote behavior change.
Dale Hayes, M.S., R.D. an award winning author, educator and nutrition coach.
Ms. Hayes brings practicality to everyday nutrition advice in her topic, "How to
Eat Chocolate." Yum!
The conference will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Chase Center
(www.centerontheriverfront.com) in Wilmington, Delaware. The meeting is
scheduled from 8 am. - 4 p.m. and exhibits are welcome to set up as early as
