           Mexico City
• Mexico City is very polluted because of its
position on land. It was built in a ditch with a
mountain range surrounding, it which traps the
pollution. Without that mountain range, it
wouldn’t be as polluted because the pollution
would be able to get out. Also, they don’t have a
very good waste disposal process. Therefore,
waste stacks up on streets and gets in rivers
taking it to other towns. With all of the waste,
  everyone around it is affected.

                          Brazilian
                          Rainforest
The Brazilian Rainforest gets destroyed more and more every year just for human
supplies. As you can see on this map, 65-70% of the Amazon gets destroyed for
cattle ranches, 2-3% of land get destroyed for logging, 5-10% of land gets destroyed
for large-scale agriculture, 20-25% of land gets destroyed for small-scale agriculture,
and 1-2% of land is destroyed for other things. If this keeps going on every year for
a century, the entire rainforest will be gone forever and people can’t do anything to
bring it back.
Venezuelan
    oil
  problem
Venezuela is a very big
oil exporter in the world.
However, they also have
had many spills. To the
left you will see a picture
of some oil in the water.
On line, I read that there
has been 12 oil spills in
the last year. Most of the
spills have occurred
because of pipes that
have become too rusty
so they crack. Because
of all of these oil spills,
tons of fish have died
and oil has gone to other
places and killed fish
there too.

               Mexico And
                 Venezuela
The location of Mexico affects where people live because people
would want to live near the coasts for mild temps. and Mexico
city for jobs. People might try to stay away from Mexico city
because of pollution and might go out to the country for good
farming chances. Mexico also has a warm temp. because of how
close it is to the equator. People can easily trade with North
America and Latin America since it is on the water and is
connected to both. Mexico has a lot of natural resources in the
Sierra Madre mountains that they can use for trading.
Venezuela has an easy trade route to most countries in South
America and in Latin America. People would want to live near
the coast for more mild temps. It is near the Equator so it is
extremely hot. They have tons of oil fields which they can trade
to foreign countries. That is there most valuable resource.
       Brazil And
                    Cuba they are
Brazil is on close to the equator so it is really hot.
people over crowd the beaches because
cooler than other parts of Brazil and now there is not
a lot of room to live. The Gov. is trying to get people
to move out to other places in the country. The
Amazon Rainforest has a lot of natural resources like
fruits, vegetables, and cures for diseases.
Cuba is pretty close to the equator so it is pretty hot.
Since it is a small island, it stays a mild temp. and
people live anywhere. Cuba doesn’t have many
natural resources, so it relies on its surrounding
countries to provide it with what it needs. But since it
is communist, it trades mainly with Russia.

                          Languages
Latin America is based among 2 main languages: Portuguese and Spanish. The
reason that this is like this is because when countries started to colonize countries,
Portugal and Spain came and took over the countries here.
     Literacy
            rate could read
The literacy rate affects the standard
of living because if nobody
and write how could they make
directions for a job? How could they
read the directions for a job? They
can’t! A country would be very poor if
it doesn’t have any jobs to make
money off of. If they don’t have money
to pay for school, then how are they
going to learn to do a job? It doesn’t
work!
