Assistant Director of Admissions for Communication, #710
UNC Charlotte’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking an experienced
admissions counselor to serve as an Assistant Director of Admissions for
Communication. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of all
recruitment-related publications and communication efforts and the recruitment of
Duties and responsibilities include:
○ Manage and implement the marketing plan and associated
communication efforts with various constituent groups. This includes
serving as the liaison with vendors and printers, creating publications and
other marketing collateral using desktop publishing software, writing and
editing content for print and web communications, tracking costs and
adhering to marketing budgets.
○ Develop and manage the Undergraduate Admissions social networking
○ Review applications for admission and render admission decisions for
freshman and transfer applicants.
○ Conduct admissions presentations, counsel students and families on
admissions criteria, respond to email and telephone inquiries regarding
the admissions process, and attend college fairs.
○ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, and at least one year of related admissions
experience. Direct experience in marketing and communication. The ideal candidate is
flexible, adaptable, committed and energetic; has strong interpersonal and public relations
skills; demonstrated expertise in written and oral communication; computer competency;
ability to meet critical deadlines; ability to collaborate with campus personnel;
outstanding organizational skills, and a willingness to participate in some travel.
Preferred qualifications: Admissions experience at a large public university. Experience
with communication practices, especially in higher education, and strong working
knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite publishing programs.
Experience using web-based Content Management Systems for website maintenance.
Preferred education includes a Master’s degree.
