1. Reporting The frequency with which we report home and the information in the reports.
home Should be reporting current rate of progress, expectations, Comments will be considered as

Attitude to learning- positive feedback about scale 1-4 – what happens if a
student has got a number of 3/4s on the report- what is triggered? Currently
departments/tutors flag up concerns.
Food Technology / Design and Technology should have separate reports.

Advice for new y7 parents and students- be selective about your
appointments- difficult to see everybody
Senior Leadership to consider
Could y8/10 have a ‘Meet the tutors evening’ as they would most likely have a all views of parents.
Year 7 evening should be earlier.
Guidance for Staff: Who should Tutor/teacher talk to? The parent or the
child? Predominant conversation is with parent.
Guidance for Parents: Book appointments with 5 min. gaps in-between.
Politeness: Teachers not present should make contact and somebody
should check they have done so.
For Teachers: Allocate longer appointments for those students who may
need longer. Photos- some parents felt staff who had photos of the students
in front of them should already know their child. Making appointments can be
difficult for some students, ensure all students are given the opportunity
For Teachers + Parents: Need to accept that the parents’ evening is quite
rushed – need to get the point over quickly and concisely.
Staff to be in the hall from 4:30 – 7:30 or until last appointment is fulfilled.
Staff can (and should) make appointments to see parents they want to see.

Year 9 Digital Leaders are designing part of the new student planner.
Year 10 working party- supporting y9 students and presenting their views
