There will be a freshmen class meeting today at 10:40 in the cafeteria. The fund raiser
kick off meeting for the freshmen will be Mon., October 12 at 1:50.


Just a reminder that if you are playing in the powderpuff game tonight you must have a
signed liability form turned in today.

The Homecoming Dance is Saturday from 8:00-11:30. Cost is $5.00. If you are bringing
a guest, please make sure you have an approved guest form on file by Thursday and
make sure you sign them up on the list in the office. Middle School students are not
allowed at the dance.

The parade is today at 4:30 in Edmore. The Powderpuff game starts at 5:30. The
homecoming football game is tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.

Homecoming Court halftime practice is today at 1:00. Meet in front of the bandroom.

General Announcements:
DeWitt Lumber Company will be hosting their 15th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest at
the Millpond on Saturday, October 24. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. There is a flyer
on the office window with more details.

Hey! Montabella ladies and gentlemen it's time to step up and recycle! Now is the time
to go green. Please help us in keeping our planet a healthy and clean place to live in. So
start recycling. Every time you pick up a piece of paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum
can or a tin can remember to recycle it in a blue recycling box or the designated
cardboard box. Thank you and have a great day.

Registration forms for the Endeavor Run are due today. Cost is $12.00.

Career Center students: You will not be going to the career center today so that you can
be here for the assembly. You must report and sign in at the media center until the
assembly. Failure to do so will result in a skip.

Counseling Corner:

Seniors! Western Michigan University has announced their Fall Open House dates.
Please see the counselor for these dates if you are interested. The 2009 Fall Open
House will highlight Academic Colleges, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Dining Services,
Student Organizations, Campus Tours, Residence Hall Tours, and more! Students who
bring their completed application, $35 application fee, transcript and ACT scores will
receive their admission decision that day!

Attention Seniors! Northern Michigan University has announced several scholarships
that are now available. Some of these scholarships are for full tuition. If you are
interested please see the counselor to see if you qualify!

Those seniors who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and are interested in attending Central
Michigan University need to stop by the counseling office for scholarship information.

The PSAT will be given on the morning of Wednesday, October 14. This test is for
juniors and must be taken to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship. If you
are interested, contact the counselor and get signed up. There is a $13 fee but you may
qualify for a waiver. If you are planning on college definitely ask about taking this test.

Attention Seniors! The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
application is available in the counseling office. Scholarships range from $1000 to
$15,000 per year! Any high school senior who is a United States citizen may apply.
Application deadline is November 2, 2009. All seniors planning on going to college
should apply for this scholarship!

Athletic News:

The varsity volleyball team is having a DIG PINK match on October 13th home against
Vestaburg. We would love it if everyone would come out wear pink, support breast
cancer, and your Mustang volleyball team.

Open wrestling will start this Wednesday evening in the high school gym from 7-8 PM.
Everyone is welcome. If you want to find out what the sport is about, come and see on
Wednesday evenings. This is for 7-12th graders.
