KFS Maintenance Technician – Job Description Overview: Responsible for timely repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers, aerial lifts, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. Operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Position Information: • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and electronically (on a computer) • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures • Perform other duties as required Disclaimer: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job. QUALIFICATIONS • Must have one years' experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school • Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck to determine if operating properly • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds • Must posses a valid driver's license (endorsements are a plus) • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training • Basic computer skills • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) • Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants WORKING CONDITIONS • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise • Exposure to extreme heat/cold is minimal while working in and out of a controlled temperature setting in a vehicle or building • Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area while working away from the normal work area along highways, streets and overpasses • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants 25950 Acero, Suite 220 | Mission Viejo, CA 92691 | Main Office 949.595.4400 | Fax 949.595.4480 | www.kelleyfleetservices.com
