Northshore Fire Department responded to a fatality accident at Bothell Way and
73rd Avenue NE in Kenmore at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19th. The motor
vehicle/pedestrian accident involved one driver and seven pedestrians. One pedestrian
died at the scene.
Emergency services personnel from Northshore Fire Department, Bothell Fire & EMS,
Woodinville Fire & Life Safety, Shoreline Fire Department, Kirkland Fire Department,
Edmonds Fire Department and Seattle Fire Department responded to the incident.
Kenmore Police and King County Sheriff’s also responded to the scene.
Firefighters from the Northshore, Bothell and Shoreline Fire Departments were
attending Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) skills training at Northshore Fire
Department’s Kenmore Station, located one block from the accident site, when the call
came in. Firefighters were on scene within 2 minutes.
The driver and two pedestrians were seriously injured and four pedestrians sustained
moderate injuries. All were transported to area hospitals.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the law enforcement
agencies.
