PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Hewlett-Packard Technical Computing Division, Ft. Collins, CO
Mechanical Engineer 1999 - Present
Design and testing of high-end Windows and Unix Workstations. Emphasis is in mechanical product
design, utilizing state-of-the-art CAD systems. Designed hardware includes injection-molded parts, folded
sheet metal parts, stamped, forged, and various machined parts. Other responsibilities include structural
analysis, FEA, thermal design and analysis, vendor selection, and vendor interaction during prototype
periods. Primary CAD Experience is with SolidDesigner by CoCreate, other experience in CAD includes
SolidWorks (personal use) and ProE (use at Hewlett-Packard was limited to translation). Testing
experience includes shock, vibration, thermal and airflow testing. Two patents have been issued for
inventions used in products released in May 2000. Seven patent disclosures were submitted for inventions
utilized in products released May 2002. Employment with Hewlett Packard is through Volt Services Group
as an Engineering Contractor.
