AGENCY AGREEMENT
This Agreement is made and entered into between Mr……………………………the General
Manager of Company Name, P.O.Box:……………….Country Name hereinafter called as
the Foreign Principal and Mr. Abdul Cader Mohamed Ifthie the Managing Director of
Confidence Associates of No. 05, St. Anthony’s Mawatha, Colombo – 03, Sri Lanka
hereinafter called as Local Agent to recruit Manpower from Sri Lanka for employment in
Country Name under the following Terms and Conditions hereinafter referred to:
1. Recruitment
( a ) The person or persons recruited shall be for employment as per the Demand letter
and shall be designated as stated in the Letter of Demand.
2. Duration of the Contract
(a) The Duration of the Contract initially shall be a period of 02 years and
renewable by mutual agreement.
3. Air Passage
(a) The Foreign Principal shall provide the return ticket from the place of
employment up to Colombo on completion of the 02 year contract period.
(Both way tickets will be provided for Domestic workers by foreign
Principal)
4. Working Hours
(a) The working hours shall be Eight ( 08 ) hours per day for all employees. 48
hours per Week. Friday will be an off day. For domestic workers the working
hours will not be exceeding 12 hours.
(b) Overtime shall be paid for Off duty Hours and Off Duty Days.
5. Responsibilities of the Foreign Principal
( a ) The Salary and other Allowances shall be paid as stated in the Letter of Demand
or the Letter of Appointment.
(b) Free Meals or Meal allowance shall be provided for all category of workers.
( c ) For all category of workers – Food, Accommodation, Transportation and Medical
facilities should be provided by the Sponsor.
6. Annual Leave
(a) The Employee or Employees shall be entitled for 30 days paid leave on
completion of a 24 month period.
7. In Case of Death
( a ) In the case of Death of the Employee during the Contract period the Foreign
principal should agree for repatriation of the remains of the deceased along with his
personal effects and his savings at the expense of the Foreign principal.
8. Compensation
(a) The Foreign principal shall ensure that the Personal life and Accident
Insurance for the Employee or Employees is provided for work connected
Illness, Injuries or Death in accordance with the pertinent laws of the host
country.
9. Other Terms & Conditions
( a ) All other Terms and Conditions of employment shall be governed by the pertinent
law of the country.
This agreement will remain valid until both parties meet and decide to change any
clauses if desired.
