1. State agency procurement and/or technical personnel identify a need
for new equipment, software or services, and determine the business
and technical requirements.
2. These requirements are shared with IBM and/or an IBM business
partner. A solution determined. This may be an iterative process. If
appropriate, a solutions assurance is conducted.
3. Pricing is obtained and provided to State agency.
4. Delivery, location and/or timeframes determined. Availability checked.
5. PO created by State agency, addressed/mailed to IBM. The purchase
order should include
a. the WSCA Contract Number (#11-20400-500),
b. invoice-to details,
c. email address for coordinating the ship-to location,
d. delivery date requests,
e. and, if applicable, the LOC ID number for the business
partner that assisted with this configuration.
6. IBM Direct places order.
7. IBM invoices the State agency.
8. State agency writes check to IBM.

If desired, State agencies can continue to involve business partners in the
configuration and delivery tasks to take advantage of the joint knowledge that
has been acquired over many years of cooperation.
1. In those cases, indicate the business partner’s LOC ID in the text of the
PO so that IBM can acknowledge their contribution. PO is created by
State agency and addressed/mailed to IBM as above. A copy of the PO
may be faxed or emailed to the business partner.
2. IBM Direct places order.
a. Order tracking number and delivery date communicated to
business partner and shared with the State agency.
3. IBM invoices the State agency.
a. Invoice-to information on the PO and invoice sent directly to State.
4. State agency writes check to IBM.

1. Servicepaks are registered by the customer and confirmation
numbers/activation reports sent to the customer
2. Normal delivery will be UPS ground. If delivery beyond the loading
dock is required, there will be an additional charge.
3. There is a 30 day window to report dead-on-arrival, shipping
damage, concealed shipping damage or missing parts. Those
reports are handled by Antoine at IBM Direct.
4. Antoine, at IBM Direct, will also handle requests for recovery disks
for PCs.
