The basic aims of the Boyne Riders Photographic Rally remain as in previous years; they are: -
☺ To encourage people to get “out there” on their motorbike(s) & have some element of fun & adventure. “Out
there” (it is hoped), will either be off the beaten track &/or feature an interesting, historical or picturesque subject.
☺ An interest in photography is not at all essential - however it just might add an extra dimension to the event.
☺ The event, in the context of motorcycle riding, is not competitive. Badges are awarded for photographing a preset
number of locations. Special awards will be given for best set of photos, best photo, oldest bike, smallest bike etc.
There are three categories of Badge - Gold, Silver & Bronze - for photographing 24, 18 & 12 subjects respectively.
All you’ve to do between now & mid November is to visit as many of the listed locations as you choose, in any order you
decide; by whatever route pleases you, alone or accompanied, as your tastes dictate. Take a photograph of the
nominated subject, be creative if you desire, but include your motorcycle & the pillion passenger if entered.
The organizers accept no liability for damage or loss however they might arise. All participants take part entirely at their
own risk & are subject to all rules & regulations as apply to traffic &/or trespass. Please respect these & other considerations
as may be relevant.
BE CAREFUL & DO ENJOY yourself.
IN THE CONTEXT OF MOTORCYCLE RIDING THE EVENT IS STRICTLY NON COMPETITIVE
Digital photos should be in JPEG format only; (no PowerPoint or other “fancy” slide show presentations please).
Photos by e-mail give us problems. You may submit as many photos as you wish but those forming your photo entry
should be in a separate folder titled photo rally entry. Fully label each shot (they look much better in an album). Please
also include the registration form above (fully filled in) & a cheque (crossed & payable to Lorcan Greene) for the € 10
registration fee - per entrant. The bronze award (12 locations) is the minimum entry standard accepted.
There’s no need to pre register; post your photos, printed & on disc, to Gerry Christie, 26 Monalee, Tralee, Kerry.
They must arrive no later than Thurs Nov 18th 2010, late entries will not be accepted, you have 9 months!
So don’t just be standing there staring, get on with it. An award presentation function will be held early in 2011
An E-mail address is important, it minimises administration & keeps you more clearly in the picture.
